The space The Holiday Nook is a perfect getaway spot, secluded yet in uberly close access to the conveniences of town. Four bedrooms, very large flat parking area, and large open commons area, living room/kitchen make it cozy for sharing space and time with your family or group. The large yard surrounded by beautiful nature, wooded and open. Deer often frequent the yard, coming in after the apple trees in the fall. The décor celebrates antique material culture of tools from our local Appalachian heritage. The museum-quality collection is tastefully displayed throughout the living room. Historic beauty surrounds when you sit on the huge real leather couch and look at the real solid wood paneling, locally harvested and crafted onto the walls for the feel of our rural heritage. New hardwood floors make comfy your feet as well as pleasing to the eye. Exposed beams in the ceilings give stimulating Appalachian Bling to anyone appreciating outside of cookie-cutter architecture wake-up. Our spacious kitchen with granite counters is fully equipped for even a seasoned chef, it joins open to the dining area where a massive skylight spills in natural light and an uplifting view of the skies. Music lovers, the sound system with Alexa Amazon Music will “knock your socks off.” This new Sonos Sound is the state-of-the-art in acoustics. We love the best! Sound is connected to the 65-inch 4K flat screen TV streaming from our Netflix account. Come experience the cinema-quality surround sound and watch an impressive huge flatscreen, nestled down in a plush real leather couch, on a real hardwood floor, surrounded by beautiful Appalachian décor, all adding up to a serious holiday nook. Opposite to cookie-cutter, this venue is for the artistic adventurer who celebrates creativity and getaway private holiday seclusion. The big brick fireplace hearth for a real sit-around radiant heat adds to the ambiance. We also have a firepit outside in the yard for your enjoyment, by the edge of the forest. The 93,000-acre Blue Ridge Parkway National Park is only a two minute drive from the house, yet in our own backyard we have a very large outdoor dining/gaming/activity table to seat a large party. The table is draped with a canopy of overhanging tree shade branches. The front patio attached to the living room is great for sitting out to enjoy catching warm sunrays in the fall and winter. Super-well insulated and with a new HVAC system, we offer a very comfortable stay. For anyone afraid of steep mountain snow and ice-covered roads, it is a very gentle grade on our paved driveway, flat parking and “mountain flat” all the way to town – the best conditions you could have in this county, and much different than most layouts. We have a very large hot water heater with lots of pressure and the quality and taste of the mountain water is superb! The beds are all antique beauties, one queen and three fulls. Most bedrooms have a desk in them for your laptop convenience in the privacy of your bedroom. If some of your party wants to get out, there is so much close by to experience. For golf lovers, the 4.6 Star Boone Golf Club is only four minutes away, for food lovers, many fine restaurants are only 5 minutes away, state parks and county parks with many trails and views are all around us and our beautiful local greenway trail is only a 4 minute drive. If you want a perfect “base camp” retreat, this is the spot for you.
