VasHome is a 100+ year-old gem of a home and is the perfect place to enjoy cozy, fun family time (troll artist, Thomas Dambo, and family recently stayed.) Lovingly curated, our 4-bedroom, 1-bathroom farmhouse features a beautiful view of the harbor. Walk about 10 minutes to the center of Burton to grab a coffee and a chat with a local, continue a few minutes more to the beach to collect sand dollars and end your day with a bike ride around the Burton loop, a kayak tour or a magical forest hike. The space We love our home, and believe its shabby-chic comfort is a perfect match for Vashon's laid-back lifestyle. We have filled it with art by local Vashon artists, a music lounge with vintage Seattle Paramount Theater seats for sipping wine and spinning vinyl, and two televisions (including a gaming console) for when you tire of the view (although this may be hard). Watch the sunrise or the sailboats pass from the covered front porch or the eagles overhead from the hammock. Enjoy taking a whirl on a tree-swing, or waving hello to a deer in the backyard. We love pets and have a doggie door with a fenced back yard. VasHome is not fancy or modern, but it is clean and sanitized and we think it has everything you could ask for in a low-key, relaxing island getaway dedicated to outdoor recreation and fun. Guest access You will have full use of the two floors of the main home and the shed which includes bikes, a blow up SUP and a blow up kayak for two. We’ve also got a fire pit, hammock (seasonal) and outdoor dining table in the side yard. Washer/dryer in basement is available at your request for longer stays. Other things to note Pets - One well-behaved pet per stay is welcome and our backyard is fenced with a pet door in back. (If you have two pets from the same home, message us.). This pet fee must go through the app. Parties - No parties are allowed in the home and only those registered may stay. Our neighbors are lovely and we want to respect them. Bathroom - We have one bathroom located on the first floor. Nightlights throughout guide your way, but please note there isn’t a bathroom on the second floor with the bedrooms. Parking - We have a steep gravel driveway. Street parking is also available and needed for any low riding vehicles or those with a trailer hitch. Rustic and Charming - This is a 100 year-old cottage.
