Skylark Manor is an enchanted cabin high in the mountains of Pine Hills, close to Heise State park and equal distance to Julian and Wynola. The home is ready for guests to kick back over a weekend, week, or month retreat. Get ready to take a deep breath, step through the doorway, exhale, and unwind. The house is located on 5 acres of wooded bliss and set up as a comfortable escape from busy everyday life. This listing is for the main house at Skylark Manor. The 1st floor includes fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room with table for 6, living room with wood burning fireplace, 2 bedrooms (each with Queen bed), 2 bathrooms with showers, outdoor screened in porch (with a dining table for 8), and expansive deck in the pines with amazing views! The 2nd floor is a fully finished attic which has several nooks with a total of 4 beds (2 Twin + 2 Double) and another bathroom with claw foot tub. MAX guest count is 8. If your group needs more room, there is a guests house at Skylark that can accommodate up to 6 more guests which can be found as separate listing. There is no extra room in main cabin for cots, blow up mattresses, or sleeping bags. There are no TVs and no WiFi - guests are encouraged to unplug and relax! HOWEVER, cell phone reception is solid so those who need to do some work can hot spot from their phone. No parties! Noise carries in the mountains and my neighbors enjoy a peaceful sanctuary that I expect my guests to respect. NO animals/pets. NO exceptions. Guests who disregard this rule will be removed immediately without refund. Outdoor grilling on the wood burning stone grill/ oven is only allowed during certain months which are low fire risk as determined by the county of San Diego. Outside, there is a full sized boccie court with seating which is shared with the guest house. I live a stone throw away, so I am very available, but I give my guests complete privacy during their stay. Text is preferred but please call for emergencies. The cabin has been described as 'Enchanted' by all who have visited and is surrounded by majestic redwood trees that soar up to the sky. For those wanting to 'unplug' and embrace slower pace of country living, this is truly affordable luxury just minutes away from downtown Julian. Detailed directions will be sent on the morning of check in, and guests are advised to follow those instead of relying on phone maps - which may end up routing a longer drive up the mountain. Driveway has a very gentle paved slope, but still gets slippery during winter snow/rain. Cancellations due to weather will be fully refunded. Although there is no separate wifi service at the house, the cell phone services are strong on all standard carriers. Guests can use their phone to hot spot if they need wifi while staying at the cabin. During high winds or dry months, I do not allow use of my outdoor wood burning grill due to fire risk. There is however also a gas grill on the deck for usage year round
