Westlands Cabin in the forest at Lost River

The Westlands at Lost River is surrounded by mature hardwood forest and nestled up against public park land of the George Washington National Forest about 2 hours from the Washington DC Metro Area. Westlands is ideal for families, couples, adventurers, business people and four-legged companions (no cats, our apologies!). Relax and unwind in the heart of Lost River. The space Westlands in a charming 2-bedroom, 2-bath cabin with natural wood-paneling indoors and wood siding outdoors to make you feel cozy and at home as you get away. The main level has ramp-access to the front door. The lower level is accessible via the interior staircase or an exterior sliding door. The main level consists of an open-space living room, dining room and kitchen. There is table space to seat 8 at two separate tables. The kitchen is a full kitchen with a microwave, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and sink. The freezer is equipped with an ice-maker and in-door water. Additionally, we are equipped with a coffee maker, filters, teapot and basic coffee and tea. The living room has a TV and DVD player, and you are welcome to make use of our DVD collection, books, games (located in entertainment center) and craft supplies (located in cupboard behind the table). There is a gas fireplace in the living room that guests may use. Instructions for use are in the guest binder. The living room connects to a wraparound screened porch with a full gas grill and table for four. Enjoy time relaxing in the rocker, playing tic tac toe with our porch set, or laying in the hammock with a good book. The living room connects to the main level bedroom, with two single beds, a small loft, and a full bathroom with shower. The stairs lead from the living room to the downstairs level, with a large sitting room containing the second gas stove/fireplace and a daybed with trundle. There is also a wood-burning stove. The wood-burning stove is not safe to use, and is not available for guests. The sitting room enters into the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a connected laundry room, and full bathroom with shower. Outside, we have a fire pit for you to use. Wood supply is adjacent to the shed. We look forward to your stay at Westlands! Guest access Guests have full access to the cabin, with the exception of three locked closets. Guests can make use of the fire pit outside, and the wood supply adjacent to the shed. Other things to note We are located on the edge of a large, public-use forest with thousands of acres of undeveloped land. This is bear country. Please be conscientious and place all trash in proper receptacles.
