The Hardaway Cottage - An Art Deco Gathering Place

The historic Hardaway Cottage is a very special place. It was built in 1933 on the grounds of the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation within walking distance of Roosevelt's Little White House. This park like property is bordered in the back by the FDR state park. You are two minutes from downtown Warm Springs, but given total privacy on this unique property that is ADA compliant on the first floor of the home. The space This Georgian style house built at the height of the art deco movement include a unique sun porch, large deck out front and traditional fire pit. It would be perfect for a small wedding, family reunions, wedding showers, or a family vacation. Guest access Guests can take a free tour of the historic Roosevelt institute that played a key role in the treatment and cure of Polio. The grounds are a beautiful place to walk or hike. There is a large area on the property for grilling and picnicking. You are five minutes from a trail head of the FDR state park (wolf den falls) that is considered one of the most beautiful hikes in Georgia. (Park headquarters are 25-minute drive.) Downtown Warm Springs has lovely shops, restaurants and an ice cream parlor. Other things to note There are three buildings on the property; the main house, the office/garage, and the historic servants quarters cottage. The servant's quarters cottage is rented to a local police officer. He acts as our security, and makes sure our property is safe and secure. Parties and events need to be approved in advance and may incur extra fees.
