Our open air community Main Street veranda provides the best overhead view of old Locke’s Main Street and is a favorite gathering place where your guests can play cards, chess, Chinese checkers or other pastime from our game closet. Our six bedrooms can accommodate up to 13 adults comfortably for wedding parties, car clubs, artist and photographer workshops, etc. Downstairs is our restaurant and ice cream shop. Interior staircase top left door leads to 5 private guest bedrooms: Rooms #2,3,4,5,6. All bedrooms have door keys. Shared areas include: community kitchen, historic restroom with two toilet stalls, a cowboy bathtub and century old working shower, community veranda that overlooks historic Main Street—the best view in town! If Martha is in town, which she usually is, she is easily available to assist her guests. She cooks complimentary hot breakfasts (downstairs in her restaurant) for all Locke B&B guests eggs-bacon-toast-juice-coffee, until you're full! Night time rootbeer float parties for your celebrations can be arranged for your group, as well. Martha also hosts a variety of Locke events: history tours, monthly watercolor hikes into our beautiful state park right behind Locke, first Saturdays “Paint the Town of Locke,” and summer floating parties. Locke is very quiet with the exception of infrequent motorcycle groups that visit through the weekends. Four doors away is historic Al's Place (since 1934), and there is a terrific Chinese restaurant in town as well. You'll also find a handful of other charming businesses including antique stores, museums, and art galleries, although buisness hours do vary in Locke due to the the weekdays being very slow and quiet in town. We are also in walking distance to hiking trails at the Delta Meadows State Park. Locke B & B is at 13959 Main Street, a one block-long, one way, single lane road that is usually very pedestrian friendly. A single turn off of River Road will take you into our town, set back in time. Surrounding historic Locke are many “islands” between the rivers and sloughs, within the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (in total, about the size of Rhode Island) and you’ll see other unique river towns, scenic beaches, hiking trails, views to add to your day-trips.
