Sadly as of February 2022 we now require a $100 cleaning fee for pets that you bring along. We love our pets like family as much as you do but have had some really bad experiences recently. We allow a 'well-behaved' pet or two. If your pup is going to destroy our property, scratch doors and lift their leg on our furniture and drapery please leave them home. I would prefer no pets on our furniture but if you must let them up please grab an extra sheet to protect the furniture. Please be considerate and pick up after your pet and keep them in your control. Please do your part to keep our property pet friendly. Just a reminder that you are adventuring into a ‘slightly’ remote area of Maine. This part of Maine is known for rafting, hiking, fishing, chasing waterfalls, hunting, ATV adventures and snowmobiling. While there is an excellent grocery store across the street and a pub next door, you will not find much for shopping and fine dining in this area. Head north on 201 to The Forks for more restaurant options. This area is ‘seasonal’ and some restaurants and local businesses close for the month of December and April. This house once belonged to 'Gadabout Gaddis' and the small field airport next door was the base of his operations. 'Gadabout' was known to millions of television viewers as the 'Flying Fisherman' who first broadcasted his 1/2 hour show in 1939 during the early years of television. Gadabout came to Maine in 1927 and fell in love with the Upper Kennebec Valley. Come and enjoy this area for yourself and "soak up nature and all of it's marvelous wonders'. Guest access Our river house has a large driveway that will accommodate two or three trailers for those transporting ATVs or snowmobiles.
