The space Located just five minutes from the towns of Fairplay and Alma, Harry’s Hygge Hut is conveniently close to everything you need (groceries, restaurants/bars) but also feels a world away. The renowned resort town of Breckenridge is a short ~ 30 minute drive away. Buena Vista can be reached in ~ 40 minutes, providing a gateway to hot springs and the rapids of the upper Arkansas. For the Work From Home crowd we have installed Starlink Internet, a low latency, broadband internet system by Spacex. We get internet speeds from 100-250mbps with no data caps. Come to Harry's for a week or a month and stay connected! Harry’s is located 1 mile off-of Highway 9 on a county-maintained dirt road that is plowed in the winter. During the winter we highly recommend AWD and snow tires. After a day of recreation and exploration, you can pull up a chair for the stunning nightly sunsets from the deck or enjoy a glass of wine by the wood-burning fireplace. Every window in the cabin provides inspirational views, either of Colorado’s towering 14,000 foot peaks or the charming Aspen grove nestled alongside the cabin. Harry’s Hygge Hut was furnished to exude the Danish concept of ‘hygge’ – a cozy space to create lasting memories with friends and family. Entering Harry’s you are greeted by open-concept living area with vaulted ceilings and soaring windows providing mountain views from every angle. The main room opens to a wrap-around deck where you will enjoy Colorado’s 300 days of sunshine and fresh mountain air. Back inside you will find an updated farmhouse-style kitchen, a dining table with seating for six, and plenty of space for everyone to gather around the wood burning fireplace. Off of the kitchen is a spacious master bedroom with a crib and an updated en-suite bathroom. Upstairs you will find a welcoming and spacious loft with two comfortable queen beds. Downstairs is a second gathering area with a flat screen TV with Roku for all of your streaming needs. This room also includes a workspace for anyone needing to get some work done while at the cabin and a reading area for some enjoyable downtime. Off of the downstairs living area is a second updated bathroom along with a third bedroom with a bunk bed – a queen mattress on bottom and a full mattress on top. Harry's Hygge Hut provides an excellent base for adventuring in Colorado's backcountry and has something for anyone in your group. Whether you are looking to take a more leisurely hike up the Beaver Creek or Pika Trails, or want to push your limits on any of the 5 nearby 14,000 peaks, everyone will find an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a manner that suits their pace. Skiers and Mountain Bikers will appreciate quick access to Breckenridge, while the Mosquito range and Hoosier pass provide a variety of remote backcountry options for the more adventurous. Fishers will be in heaven with nearby gold medal waters while those looking for a 4x4 adventure will find challenges abound from Mosquito Pass to Wheeler Lake to Breakneck Pass. For rock climbers in your group, Eleven Mile Canyon and Mt Royal are accessible within an hour, providing a variety of sport and trad climbing options. And the Arkansas Valley will satiate anyone's appetite for rafting and kayaking. Make sure you drink plenty of water and stay hydrated during your stay! Compared to most areas nearby, Harry’s has good cell service with strong LTE signal from many carriers. We have starlink internet which provided reliable and fast connectivity for working from home, making Harry's a perfect location for your next workcation! We offer discounts for week long and month long stays. Harry's has a well stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs. However, we have deliberately decided not to include a microwave as we find this lets us enjoy life at a slower pace during our time in the mountains.
