Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley on a quiet country road, this house features a private, newly renovated space at the back of a unique house built in 1789. Surrounded by trees and nature, it makes for a perfect relaxed setting, with access to your own private deck and back yard. A short walk to enjoy Hunns Lake and close to the Buttercup Sanctuary, Stissing Mountain trails, Pine Plains and Millbrook villages. It’s the ideal retreat for a peaceful country getaway. The space features a beautiful sunroom that gives lots of light and looks out onto a secluded garden surrounded by trees. Each bedroom has a queen bed so it’s perfect for up to 2 couples. The 2nd bedroom can also be used as an office space! Desk and office chair are available upon request. Granola, bread and free range eggs are provided to make breakfast. Includes all amenities to cook including large fridge-freezer, microwave, oven and stove, electric hot water kettle, coffee machine, toaster, pots and pans, etc. Tea bags and freshly ground coffee are also provided. There is a George Foreman grill available to use outside on the deck. Surrounded by trees and nature - you will hear lots of birds and if you wake up early will sometimes spot deer in the garden. The neighbors have goats, chickens and a donkey so you will also sometimes hear the sound of farm animals. I am currently working my way through renovating the whole house so will be living in the front in the old section for most of the time (it is a separate private section that does not interact with the guest suite). The rest of the time I am living in Brooklyn, NY. I respect privacy and leave guests to enjoy themselves but will be happy to make myself available if needed and to help you with anything to make your stay more comfortable. It’s very close to charming villages like Millbrook, Pine Plains, Clinton Corners and if you are looking for a little more action, larger more bustling towns like Rhinebeck. Less than 15 mins to Millbrook vinyards and winery. Stanfordville has a great little Mexican: Coyote Flaco, a farm to table market: Big Rock Community Farms Market, a wine and liquor store: Tequilas Wines and Spirits, a pharmacy and 2 antique stores and a distillery. A larger supermarket: Freshtown of Amenia, is a 17 minute scenic drive through the country. 20 mins drive off the Taconic State Parkway, with lots of surrounding towns and villages. Millbrook (17 mins), Millerton (20 mins), Rhinebeck Village (27 mins), Amenia (16 mins), Sharon (24 mins). This location is not suitable for any parties, loud gatherings or loud music. It's very peaceful here and the guest suite is joined to the main house which is lived in. If you like to play loud music this air bnb is not a good option!
