Cooking is not available but excellent restaurants are minutes away for dining in or take-out. For your convenience, there is a microwave and fridge with separate freezer that will hold a couple frozen meals. We do not have laundry facilities on site for guests but there is a clean, 24-hour laundromat close by. I greatly enjoy meeting everyone but your privacy is my priority. You have a dedicated, secure space for you but I will be available to meet any needs you might have. The house is split and I (the owner) occupy a separate suite, exiting and parking at the opposite end of the house. I encourage everyone to relax in whatever way makes them comfortable with music or TV or just quiet time...it's all good. I am in and out doing my own thing or often out of town. Sam's place is well-appointed with many thoughtful details. including the following highlights: quiet location at the end of a quiet neighborhood street right on the river... an airy space with lots of windows… Sam was responsive and available for any inquiries, but we had a lot of privacy and really felt at home in the space. We will absolutely stay here again during future visits to Thermopolis.' State run Hot Springs Mineral Baths are clean and quiet, open 7 days a week and are free to the public....plus other commercial venues with naturally heated, mineral-water swimming pools. Number one fly fishing, river tubing, rafting or kayaking at your doorstep or in nearby famous Wind River Canyon. There are plenty of attractions in our little one-light town including the beautiful Hot Springs State Park, mingling with our own buffalo herd, Wyoming Dinosaur center, Hot Springs County historical museum, hiking, boating, golfing, and much more...all just minutes away. Great day trips are Big Horn Mountains, Wild horses of Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole and other scenic drives. Remember, this is the foothills of the Rockies in wild Wyoming. Come prepared for heat, cold, bugs, thunderstorms, and phenomenal beauty...grizzly, moose, wolf, buffalo, elk, antelope, coyote, deer, fox, mountain goat, muskrat, beaver, trout - even pelicans...we have it all. For your safety and peace of mind, Thermopolis has a hospital with 24-hr ER and acute inpatient/outpatient care as well as land and air ambulance service. Also available is an excellent outpatient rehabilitation center. Closest major airports are Casper (2.5 hrs), Jackson Hole (4 hrs), Denver (8 hrs) and Billings, MT (4 hrs). Some regional United and Delta flights from hub cities fly into Cody (1.25 hrs) or Riverton where there are several car rental companies. Private planes can fly into Thermopolis, Worland and Riverton local airports. No other bus, trains, taxis, shuttles or car rentals are available in the area. Ask about private pick up from the airport. Dining Choices: our popular sports bar and micro brewery, Black Bear breakfast café & bakery, Mexican, Thai Bangkok, modern new Pizza Hut, McDonalds, an impressive health food store w/ smoothie bar, soups and salads, plus other fast food restaurants. Thermopolis also has a full-service grocery store, truck stop and the 24-hour Maverick convenience store w/ service center. (See Guidebooks for more detailed information.) This is a small town of 2700 people. Grocery stores are open 7 days a week until 9 pm and same for most restaurants. Other interesting local shops for gifts and souvenirs are open Monday - Saturday and closed on Sunday, in general.
