Be aware of how you can mitigate the effects of elevation adjustment, and be prepared before you arrive. ALL GUESTS staying from OCTOBER until APRIL MUST HAVE 4WD, AWD, and and / or traction assistance (snow tires, studs, chains, etc.) to travel these roads. This is Colorado state law, and is required for residents and visitors alike. We are right upstairs if you need anything special or have questions about the area and activities. ALTITUDE CAUTION: The house is located at 10,600 ft. elevation, and has spectacular views and mountain air! However, if you are coming from a much lower elevation (especially if you are from sea level) you will want to drink plenty of water, starting the day before your trip. I recommend that all guests research altitude sickness, and how to help prevent it. Don't spend 3 days of your vacation in bed, heed the advice and be prepared, so you can get the most out of your mountain getaway! Uber and Lyft are sometimes available, but most guest situations will require a vehicle to get around. From late October until April, guests WILL need a 4WD, AWD, or snow tires or tire chains to get around safely. This is a high alpine environment, so please make travel plans accordingly. Guest parking notes: Please do not park out front or on the neighbors' front street. The best place to park is one block behind the house on Oak St, you will see our black Ford F-150. This unit has ONE parking space only.
