The Back Porch. dog-friendly, big shaded yard

Welcome to The Back Porch. Come unwind under the trees just minutes from the beach in the heart Kill Devil Hills. You'll have a private entrance to our first floor guest suite as well as plenty of places to swing in the breeze in our shaded yard. We are centrally located just blocks from the beach, the Nags Head Woods Preserve, groceries and several restaurants. The space This little retreat is our labor of love. Bill and I have worked to custom build furniture to make the most of our unique space. The queen bed has a twin trundle underneath which doubles as a couch, and we have a pack and play available upon request. Just outside your private entrance, we created a wooden porch with lots of plants and cozy hammock swings. To one side of the porch, you'll find more seating around our fire pit as well as an outdoor shower (both of which we built with repurposed materials). We also have two 13 foot kayaks available for your use when you're ready to hit the water. (Just a friendly reminder, these boats are long, so you'll need a truck or sturdy roof rack to transport them.) The space is essentially one large room and a separate bathroom with a walk in shower. The kitchenette has a sink, small fridge and microwave. There's also an electric kettle, French press, blender and single eye burner. Please be aware that we are an active family and live upstairs. While we try to keep noise to a minimum, you will hear footsteps and we do get up early. As such, we also provide a white noise machine as well as ear plugs for your use. Other things to note Hurricane season is June to November, please see Airbnb policy regarding weather events: "Weather events, natural conditions, and diseases that are excluded from our Extenuating Circumstances Policy" There will be no refunds related to weather events.
