Ferry Keeper’s Cabin, Barn & Loft: Deer Isle
Description
The Ferrykeeper’s Barn & Loft is a 2 level haven, surrounded by water, meadows & the famous Eggemoggin Reach. Perfect for families & a pup, the barn offers a chess table, lobster buoy swing, trails, campfires... The space is designed with handcrafted counters, hammered sinks & oceanic tile. Stroll to the beach. Hike paths across the road. Our property borders Scott’s Landing - a treasure trove of birds, sand dollars, porpoises, seals & a family of foxes. The space The mini kitchen, full bath, & private landing await your arrival. Should you need to work while you’re here (I’m not encouraging this!) the loft contains a small office nook. Then, join us for a campfire under the stars. S'more baskets offered. The Ferrykeeper’s Barn Loft is a designer’s dream - bathed in light, bird song, & surrounded by water on 3 sides. This open floor plan will cheerfully accommodate couples & families. The barn is set back to provide guests privacy. It’s surrounded by conservation land with numerous trails that lead to the ocean. The mini-kitchen contains a 2 coil counter-top range, a counter-top broiler oven, a microwave, coffee-maker, mini-Weber, campfire ring (think Dutch oven cooking - you may borrow one of mine) & access to a gas grill. For those with children, please mind the staircase & the deck railing. I’m happy to find solutions, together. But, please take note & take care. For some historical perspective, this place was once owned by Papa Scott who was the Ferry Keeper for Deer Isle, before the days when the island was reachable by bridge. The Scott family built their farm house on this spot in 1784. About Us: I’m a realtor, designer, artist, event producer, business coach, kayaker & wilderness guide.
