Five Bears Den is a luxury timber frame mountain cabin up at nearly 2,000 foot elevation overlooking the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Enjoy the views from two covered decks, or maybe from the big comfy sectional sofa next to the gas fireplace in the great room. Make a nice dinner in the fully stocked kitchen, catch the big game on the large screen TVs, or relax together playing pool downstairs in the game room. Play all day at Dollywood, hike the trails in the nearby Smoky Mountains, or ski and tube at Ober Gatlinburg? You’re all set. And the Bonus? Heated pools are open throughout each summer! Our home is a timber frame mountain cabin ideally located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We’re just 15 minutes from all your favorite attractions and restaurants. After a day out, come back home to relax, nestled high up on a quiet hill, to enjoy unobstructed views of Mt LeConte and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Enter through the ground level to our spacious and well-appointed game room. Snack at the bar, enjoy a beverage while you play some pool, or lounge on the recliner sofas to watch the big game on the large screen TV. Sliding glass doors lead to a large covered deck where you can sip coffee in your rocking chair before you start your day. The hot tub on this deck will soak those aching muscles after a great day of sight-seeing or hiking. On this floor you’ll find a gorgeous cedar log queen bedroom set with a partial view of the mountains out the side windows. Across the hall is a full bathroom with tub. There’s also a large capacity Maytag washer and dryer to dry your suits after a dip in the hot tub or in any of our three summertime Chalet Village swimming pools, or just to freshen up during an extended stay. Maybe you need to press your outfit before heading off to a wedding reception? We have an iron and full-size ironing board set up for you, just in case. Just up the stairs is the main level. The towering timber frame architecture in the great room reflects the majesty of the Smoky Mountains. Here you’ll find a drip coffee maker, a Keurig K-Elite machine, a fully stocked kitchen, granite countertops, and large island with seating for three. There are plenty of amenities and space to fix your favorite dishes. A convection/microwave, stainless steel appliances, and gas stove make cooking a breeze. There are two additional seating areas for your whole party, one in the breakfast nook, and one along the windows to enjoy a view toward the mountain range. Here is where you cozy up on that comfy sofa in front of the stone gas-log fireplace. Above the mantle is another large screen TV to catch the game while you cook or watch a movie. Outside is another big deck with Adirondack style rocking chairs and a glider for you romantic types. If grilling is your thing, there’s a big gas grill on this level as well. Back inside, you’ll find the barn wood king suite with deck access. It has a private bath and walk-in shower, two big closets for your belongings, and another TV. A half bath is available down the hall. On the top level is the third dedicated bedroom with a hickory wagon wheel queen bedroom set, TV, closet, and shared bathroom with walk-in shower. This is our home’s coziest resting space, with a rocking chair next to the windows showcasing the expanse of the magnificent Smokies. Also on this level is a massive loft bedroom area, complete with two twin-over-full bunk beds overlooking the towering beams and windows of the great room. Guest access Entire cabin. Other things to note Minimum age for renters is 25. No Parties/Events No Smoking. No Pets No Glitter/Confetti ($100 additional cleaning charges) You will be responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay. * IMPORTANT*: You are vacationing in the mountains. The drive into Chalet Village is a curvy mountain road with steep elevation changes. Take it slow until you get comfortable, it should only take a time or two. In times of snow, you'll need either four wheel drive or tire chains. The driveway itself is initially steep, but has a smaller incline for easy parking at the top, with room for 6 vehicles. The gas fireplace operates from October 1 to March 31. There is an Exterior-Facing Security Camera, which can NOT view the hot tub. A note on bunk beds: For sanitation purposes and your health/well being, we do not fully dress out the bunk beds. This avoids cleaners climbing on each clean bunk bed, and will prevent any dander or other transfer onto your sheets and quilts. TYPICAL annual Chalet Village pool hours will be 9am to 9pm on the following schedule Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekend -- (We will include updated times in our welcome message 2 days prior to check in) North Open Thursday thru Tuesday (CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY) South Baden Open Wednesday thru Monday (CLOSED ON TUESDAY) Alpine Open Thursday thru Monday (CLOSED ON TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY) Tennis courts at the North Clubhouse are open all the time (Accessible from the back parking lot of the Clubhouse off of CHALET VILLAGE BLVD when the pool is closed.) Tennis courts at the South Baden Clubhouse are open only when the pool is open as they have to be accessed from the pool deck.
