Description

Authentic 1975 A-frame chalet nestled in peaceful Stoddard countryside. This cozy cabin sleeps 5 with two wood stoves and full kitchen. Perfect rural retreat just 2 hours from Boston! Explore nearby hiking trails, swimming spots, and fishing areas. Summer bonus: complimentary canoe access! Highland Haus offers a tranquil escape with vintage charm. Note for winter visitors: Shedd Hill Road requires AWD/4WD due to steep terrain. Your cozy retro hideaway awaits! The space The front original A-frame was built in 1975, in that space, you will find a dining/kitchen area, climb the spiral staircase to the loft bedroom, walk down the hall to the updated cozy bathroom. After the bathroom is our newly added bedroom with a full size bed. As you continue down you the step into the first addition that serves as the main living area. Sprawl out on the couch while you listen to the fire. Attached to the living area is the the master bedroom with a king bed and wood stove. There are cabins near our Haus, almost all of them are strictly summer use only cabins. Most of the time you can except to not see or hear anyone else. But we wanted to let you know that we do have neighbors nearby. During warmer months- guests will have access to our privately shared lake frontage. It’s just a short walk (5mins) from the Haus. Guests will have use of our canoe that is stored down by the water. The welcome book will provide information on how to access the lake. Guest access Parking for 2 cars. Our house is off a private driveway, so we ask that our guests do not block the road. Other things to note Please note we are a pet-free Airbnb. Our Haus is on well water and at times can have a sulfur smell to it. During heavy rainfall, the smell may be worse. We provide a large Brita filter for you to use to drink water out of, but want to note that the kitchen sink does have. UV light system, so the water is very safe to drink. Highland Haus has a maximum occupancy of 5 guests. This limit is strictly enforced for safety and insurance purposes. Any reservation found to exceed this capacity will result in immediate cancellation without refund. No exceptions. Please ensure your guest count is accurate when booking. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Life Jacket / PFD Policy We provide U.S. Coast Guard-approved wearable life jackets (PFDs) for all adults participating in this rental. All adult guests will be supplied with a properly fitted PFD before launching. For guests with children under the age of 16: Parents and guardians are responsible for providing appropriate, properly fitted life jackets for their children. We strongly recommend bringing a Coast Guard-approved PFD sized specifically for your child before arriving. Please be aware of the following New Hampshire state law: All canoeists are required to have one wearable U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket (PFD) for each person on board. Children 12 and under are required by law to wear a properly fitted life jacket at all times while the canoe is underway.
