*Comfy Gaslamp Quarter Private Room - sleeps 3

Located in a historically-designated 1887 building, our private rooms are in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. This private room is unique in our hostel as the bunk bed has steps instead of the traditional ladder making it convenient to get to the top and have a peaceful sleep! Another bonus is that it can sleep up to 3 as we have a trundle bed underneath. However it's a bit tight in the room with the trundle out but friends can cozy up... The space This is a private room for up to 3 people. Please note the third bed is a trundle and when out it does make the room a little tight but still manageable. Our private rooms have mini-fridges, ceiling fans, centrally controlled air con and heat. Our 'hidden gem' as many of our guests call it, is a hideaway hostel in the heart of the Gaslamp. Historically designated and reputed to be haunted, it's a cheerful, plant-filled space with a glass atrium ceiling, grand staircase, modern amenities and a community vibe with guests sharing the kitchen lounge and bathrooms. We do not have an elevator as we are located above 2 restaurants. We are not the best property for those with mobility issues due to this and it being 27 steps to our reception and another 24 to the top floor. We house up to 96 guests in dorms and private rooms. Also available is a free luggage storage during your stay, laundry facilities and friendly smiles Guest access Guests are renting the private room but also have access to all the community areas, including both sets of bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, laundry, storage, and seating areas. Other things to note WHAT YOU NEED AT CHECK IN - We require guests to present a valid, government-issued ID and a valid credit card in their name to check in. For US citizens, ID can be a drivers license, state ID, or passport. For international guests, we require a passport. We may also ask for proof of onward travel. All guests must sign a waiver to check in. HOW LONG YOU CAN STAY – We have a 14-day stay limit in a 6-month period, but do allow some longer stays for students and travelling workers. Please contact us separately for extended stay information. WHO CAN STAY - Gaslamp Hostel welcomes responsible guests from everywhere outside of San Diego but note those docs listed above needed at check in! We allow minors aged 16+ in dorms if accompanied by a legal guardian. We are not a facility for younger children. Pets are not allowed. QUIET HOURS – As there are other guests in the building, we ask our guests to be respectful while in the hallways and common spaces between 11 pm and 7 am (midnight on weekends) and to be mindful that there may be guests sleeping in the room next to you. SMOKING/VAPING – California law prohibits smoking/vaping in the building and within 25 feet of the entrance. Please respect this. Violators who smoke/vape on property will incur a $200 cleaning fee and be asked to leave. OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF - • Damages will incur a full replacement cost plus the time it takes to replace/repair the item. • Pets or fake service animals will incur a $200 cleaning fee and immediate expulsion• We are not like the movie Hostel - we are a fun -loving bunch and don't have a basement anyways. • If you need ideas of things to do, or have a concern, please tell us and we'll see what we can do to make your stay a happy one! • Hostels are about inclusion and learning about other cultures.
