Stunning camping near Mt Rainier -- tent or RV!
Description
Cozy up to the campfire and gaze up at the stars at our foothill paradise that's close to official Paradise, just 16 miles from the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Come enjoy cleared glades and cool woods, spring-fed ponds and year-round babbling brook. The space We call it "modern rustic" -- read: Wifi, but you heat your hot water yourself :) Plenty of pristine mountain well water from three pumps, and electricity available if you need to charge your devices (or your car, but we do need to charge for our Level 2 EV charger). Flush toilet, but no shower... we're hopeful to get one after this season! Though we have three sites available (two tent, one RV), we limit occupancy to just two parties at a time. We want everyone to the option of space and solitude. Our drive-up tent site (Upper Meadow) is spacious, with picnic table and firepit at the site, and electricity and water close by. The second tent site, a walk-in site with a river view, is more remote. At Alder Grove, you trade immediate proximity to electricity and water for the sound of the creek all night long. The RV spot is in front of the cabin-in-progress, and has the option of 50- or 30-amp hookup + water (no sewer line). We became owners in July, 2020, so we're still learning the property ourselves -- we welcome your opinions and suggestions! This year, we're hosting up to two parties at a time - though the campsites are spread out so you still have your privacy. This property is just under 2 hours from Seattle, just over 2 from Portland, and a 20-minute walk/2-minute drive from the thriving, 200-person metropolis of Mineral, Washington (and Mineral Lake, with great fishing). ** IMPORTANT FINE PRINT FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING BRINGING DOGS ** - First off, we love dogs! The well-behaved, under-voice-control-at-all-times kind in particular. We’ve also found that more than 2 dogs can feel crowded, so please don’t plan to bring more than 2 furry family members. - We want to guarantee a clean, pristine experience for all campers. If we find, um, evidence, of your dog's visit after you leave, we'll take $30 from your security deposit. Does it cost us that much to scoop your dog's poop? Of course not! But that's how strongly we feel about leaving the spaces pristine for the next campers. Please pay attention, and scoop that poop. Okay, that's the end of the doggie fine print. We hate to come down all rulesy, but we've learned a few things recently. *** Guest access You're free to roam the entire five acres. We may be there working on the cabin or grounds; stewarding this land is a big undertaking and there's always something to clean/plant/build. If we're going to be on site, we'll let you know ahead of time so that you can make your decisions. Other things to note Sometimes we're around, working on the property. Let's talk about your privacy needs.
