Waterfront cabin on Lake Buchanan @ Paradise Point

This is a shabby and "chique-less" old fishing camp, but it might be the sweetest backyard sittin' spot on the lake. Shade trees & long views. NO CLEAN FREAKS ALLOWED. This place is held together with chewing gum and baling wire. There is substantial deferred maintenance & clutter of junk. If you don't like dirt, dust, bugs, peeling paint, bad floors & sagging doors, this is not the place for you. It’s like camping indoors. A roof over your head, a decent bed & AC. The space Very few amenities here. There is NO CABLE TV and NO WiFi. There is a really random assortment of DVDs and VHS tapes available, but if you plan on watching TV you may want to bring your own movie on DVD or some digital media of your own. There is a charcoal grill, a propane griddle, outdoor propane stovetop and a fire pit/ring with grill top. Some wood is provided, but you will need to bring your own charcoal and bring extra wood if you plan extensive use of the fire pit. Cell phone service can be very sketchy here. AT&T service is tolerable at the cabin, but we cannot vouch for the service level of any of the other carriers. No lifeguard is on duty at any time. Use the lake at your own risk. This cabin is right next door to the property owners association park and swimming beach. Please respect our neighbors and try to blend into the culture of the neighborhood. There are old folks living next door. No loud music is allowed at any time, and please observe quiet time starting at 10 pm and lasting to 8 am. ***THE PIER AND BOAT DOCK ARE OUT OF COMMISSION RIGHT NOW DUE TO THE LOW LEVEL OF THE LAKE. **** It is generally not safe to dock a boat on the pier at the cabin overnight because the wind can become a big problem in a big hurry. We have a shared boat dock in a protected cove located about three blocks away. Guests are allowed to use the boat dock on a shared basis with our boat dock partners. Our boat dock partners may or may not be there during the time you might be staying. There is a place to park boat trailers fairly near this boat dock. The boat dock can accommodate 2 boats, but only one is a covered spot, and it’s first come first served with our boat dock partners. The pier at the cabin can be used as a boat dock for daytime in and out, but only depending on the weather. This lake can be perfectly calm one minute, then just minutes later, become a raging tempest. However, the protected nature of the cove where the covered boat dock is located keeps the water relatively calm there. If you plan on bringing a boat, then you and I will need to talk in detail about the HOA procedures. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cabin and the outdoor space of our lot. The camper trailer and other trailers on the lot are not available for guests to use. But on a grander scale, this property can be your gateway to over 22,000 acres of public lake surface area. Other things to note Guests are allowed a maximum of two (2) vehicles to be parked at this property during your stay, and only one boat and trailer is allowed per reservation. The sheets and towels are freshly laundered before each check in; however, the linens provided are not top quality. Because this is a rustic cabin in an outdoorsy environment, we equip it with our “camp quality” linens. It’s kind of like that line Gus delivered in Lonesome Dove “You know Deets is like me - he's not one to quit on a garment just because it's got a little age”.
