Description
The Tye River Retreat is the perfect get away for relaxing and spending time in nature. The property has direct access to the Tye River where guests can enjoy fishing, swimming and kayaking. Located near route 151 which boasts numerous vineyards, breweries, distilleries and local orchards. Oak Ridge estate, home of Lockn musical festival and many other events, is just a few miles away. Close access to the AT and the Blue Ridge parkway for amazing hikes and beautiful views of VA. The space Located in Central Virginia at the foothills of the blue ridge mountains, and overlooking the beautiful Tye River, this space is the perfect location for nature lovers and anyone who needs a break from the grind of daily life. For experienced "river rats" I will allow use of two kayaks and a canoe with gear for a fun adventure. There is a perfect drop in spot and boaters can enjoy a 2 mile, 5 mile or even 10 mile trip down the Tye. The space includes one bedroom and full bath, and a recently renovated, living space with a kitchen area that includes an apartment sized refrigerator, 2-top burner stove, air fryer & sink. Comes stocked with plates, utensils and cook-ware. The living room is spacious and comfortable, with a 60 inch smart TV. Guests can enjoy their favorite Netflix shows with my account (use Airbnb guest for access) or log into your own. Enjoy a scenic view and peaceful sounds of the river from your own private deck. Guest access The space has a separate entrance from the rest of the house with a keypad for entry. The driveway is on a bit of an incline, however, 4wd is not necessary to access. The driveway is narrow, so when the AIR BNB space is occupied, I give you full access to the driveway and I park in the lower entrance, so there are no issues with anyone getting blocked in. Other things to note I have one dog, Sebastian who is genuinely sweet and fun loving. He gets along well with other dogs and loves meeting new people and playing in the River with guests. He may be out and about when you are here, but I bring him in at night (as he would likely keep you up with barking) If I have any guests who are not particularly fond of dogs, I can keep him in more and we can make arrangements that are suitable for all. If you plan on bringing a pet, that's not a problem but let me know so we can coordinate. I don't have a problem with guests bringing cats, but I do not know how he will do. Sebastian has hound in him and has killed a squirrel or two in his day.
