Earth Cabin- A "Taste" of Off-the-Grid Living

A unique experience! Off the grid earth cabin: natural heating and cooling (passive solar) with 14" earth bag walls and glass panels on entire south facing side; roof top water harvesting with filtered drinking water; solar generated electricity; wood heating stove, and cooling tube at constant 60 degrees. Located 13 miles from Show Low (City Hall), last 1.4 miles on all-weather gravel road. $10 extra charge for a 3rd person. We are NOT a regular AirBnb home: read on! The space Our tiny cabin (272 sq ft) features a pull down "Murphy Bed" (double), a Futon sofa bed, indoor lighting, fan at cooling tube intake, filtered drinking water, "on demand" hot water for kitchen sink and shower, flush toilet, small refrigerator, microwave for light meals, and (most especially) dramatic views of the nighttime sky from the full expanse of windows on the south side. Internet is available, but sometimes reception can be spotty. Intent is to provide visitors with a "taste" of off the grid living with comfortable, but with basic amenities-- a "step up" from tent camping or Yurt accommodation for visitors who want to get away from the city to a more quiet, simpler life style in a wooded rural setting. IMPORTANT NOTE: To keep cabin price at lowest possible cost, guests will be asked to do light cleaning/cabin preparation on departure. Guest access Based on prior arrangements in advance: guests will be instructed where to find the key. Other things to note Guests are requested NOT to overload the solar-generated electrical system with additional appliances or other electrical products that use considerable electricity, e.g. coffee maker, plug in heater.
