Come relax at this lovely retreat on Mound Lake! You can easily spend all day in the outdoors enjoying the lake, hiking, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding or lounging on one of the decks. Enjoy the outdoors well into the evening using the outdoor fire pit, new barrel sauna, or relaxing inside the large screened porch. Dock, kayaks & paddle board will be available from May through September. A 2019 Bennington Pontoon (50hp) is available to rent during your stay. Please inquire separately. The space This cozy cabin has it all! Families will adore the deck options with beautiful views of Mound Lake. The cabin is about 30 feet from the shoreline so you’ll have a real sense of being right on the water. The upstairs deck offers a Blackstone gas grilling station, table seating and lounge chairs. In the evening, enjoy the outdoor fire pit or move into the large, screened-in porch with plenty of relaxing seating and gas fire station. The newly added outdoor barrel sauna is excellent for staying warm on the cooler days/nights and after swimming. You can expect little road traffic in this area for a comfortable outdoor walk or run. Guests will have full access to the entire house, private dock, outdoor fire pit, firewood, 2 kayaks, paddle board, large water play matte, and Blackstone gas griddle. There are basic cooking essentials and a coffee pot (regular drip). The shed will be locked. The cabin is located about 2 miles from Shady’s Golden Eagle, 5 miles from Double R Bar Grill, 6 miles from Rock Tavern Eatery and 6 miles from the Cabooz Bar in Burtum. There is a state park within about 10 miles and additional food and grocery options within about 30 minutes. This is a joyful, quiet retreat & neighborhood. We take great pride in providing continuous care and upkeep to this cabin. If you’re looking for a party place or hosting a large event, this is not the place. Review the “House Rules” and “House Manual” sections within the listing prior to booking your stay. Guest access With the proximity to the lake, there are steps from the driveway to the cabin. There is an option to walk around the retaining wall on the grass to avoid the steps. From the cabin, there is another set of steps to access the screened porch area and lake. All worth the privacy and views! Other things to note Spring/Summer: Lots to do during the day on the water and outside during the warmer months! In the evenings, you’ll certainly enjoy the outdoor fire pit or inside the screened porch area. Firewood is available to use during your stay. Bring your life jackets, crocs/water shoes, fishing gear, personal watercraft and lake toys/floats for more fun in the sun. So long as they are in working order, we will provide a paddle board, large water play matte, & 2 kayaks during your stay. Fall: Enjoy the scenic views on your bike, ATV or a hike to savor the picturesque changing leaves and idyllic weather. Due to weather, the use of the paddle board, kayaks, water matte and dock may be restricted starting in October. Winter: Take on some cold weather activities with ice fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding or staying cozy at the cabin. AWD/4WD vehicles are required when traveling to the cabin at this time of year.
