“Escape Plan” - A Log Cabin Escape - Banner Elk

"Escape Plan" offers a real escape from the daily grind. This true log cabin offers peace and quiet among the tree tops. The cabin invites you in with cozy, roomy living. "Escape Plan’s" huge covered porch is perfect for many hours of relaxation! This end-of-the-road cabin offers privacy and proximity to all your favorite High Country destinations. The space "Escape Plan" comfortably sleeps 6 (maximum occupancy 6). The main floor holds a master with a king memory foam bed and en suite bathroom, while the downstairs bedroom offers a queen memory foam bed and en suite bathroom. The third bedroom is a sleeping loft open to below that offers two twin beds, one memory foam and the other a high end coiled mattress. Comfortable sleep awaits!! In addition to one bedroom, the main floor offers a living room and eat-in kitchen as well as a wood burning fire place (wood not provided) and Smart TV for streaming all your subscription services (no cable TV). The kitchen is well appointed and even includes a custom coffee bar. An additional sitting area is located in one of the lofts for endless hours of reading, game playing, visiting, or napping. The cabin is set up with high speed fiber optic internet, so fitting in a little work won't be a problem. At nearly 4000 feet of elevation, this cabin does not have air conditioning. The cool mountain air will be all you need! While the cabin is on a mountain top, the property is nearly an acre of explorable land. Speaking of which, a favorite guest activity is an evening by the firepit at the creek. The fire pit is located down the trail we had installed and is a magical spot for evening firepit fun! Just grab the provided camp chairs and any campfire supplies and head down for a spectacular evening! The driveway is gravel and steep, but easily accessible with two or four wheel drive most of the year. Local roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required December-March, and chains may also be necessary to access the property in deep winter months. If gravel is covered in ice, you will need to wait for temperatures to rise in order to manage the steep driveway. If you can pry yourself away from the cabin, "Escape Plan" is just minutes from downtown Banner Elk and Valle Crucis. Both locations offer outstanding area shopping and dining. For all your ski, snowboarding, and snow tubing adventures, Beech and Sugar Mountain Ski Resorts are just 20 minutes away. Grandfather Mountain, Boone and Blowing Rock are each just a quick 30 minutes away. A jaw dropping drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway is also just 30 minutes away. World class hiking trails are around just about every corner, and our guest book will guide you to our favorite hikes in the area. Even the Virginia Creeper Trail is just an hour away. Whatever your mountain getaway entails, "Escape Plan" is close by and convenient while giving you a true escape from it all and a home away from home. Guest access Our cabin uses a smart lock with keypad. You will be given an individual guest code that will be good for the duration of your stay. Codes are unique to each guest and will be activated on the day of your arrival. Other things to note *Maximum occupancy strictly set at 6. *The TV is set up for streaming your personal subscriptions. There is no cable or other services. *MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO BOOK. This person is required to be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates. *The driveway is steep, but easily accessible with two or four wheel drive most of the year. If you are traveling in winter, come prepared!! *The fire pit is located at the creek. The creek is accessed using a trail we installed to make access to the creek and fire pit easier. For a fun fire pit evening you will need to carry any camp fire supplies down the trail. We do not provide fire wood!
