Peaceful Country Retreat at Reads School House

This renovated historic 1800's school house located in the lovely countryside, a 10 minute drive from Brockville, Ontario; City of the 1000 Islands. The main level includes a comfortable living space, kitchen with eating area and full bathroom. The upper level has an open loft space with 2 twin beds, a small bedroom with a queen bed and half bathroom. Outdoor space includes a screened-in porch overlooking beautiful fields to the back of the property. The space Reads Schoolhouse is an old one-room school house, renovations were completed in 2021. The main floor has a full kitchen, a dining area and a living space. A full bathroom is on the main level. Up a set up stairs you will find the main bedroom (Queen bed) , along with an open, bright loft 2 single beds, and a half bath off the bedroom. Our water source is a well. The water is hard, and you may notice a sulfur smell especially with the hot water. it is helpful to run the drinking water through the Britta filter. An 8 GPM UV filter system is installed, all household water passes through that , making the water safe for all personal and household uses. You may prefer to bring your own drinking water. Because of our rural location, the property uses a septic tank. To keep the system working properly, please flush only toilet paper. Other items can cause blockages. A screened in porch is connected to the back of the house. You have access to the property along the fence lines. There is a propane barbeque for your use ,we try to keep full replacement bottle in the shed. Other things to note Please note that the wifi can be inconsistent due to the rural location, and stone walls.
