*Summer dates released mid-January* Rousby Hall is a stunning 5-star waterfront estate on the Patuxent River, just outside Solomons Island, with sweeping views of where the river meets the Chesapeake Bay. The private 16-acre property is bordered by a conservation area and a 300-foot private beach. Year-round amenities include a pier and an in-ground pool with amazing river views. The estate also hosts weddings and events for up to 100 guests (event fee is additional). The space Rousby Hall of Calvert County is a beautifully maintained historic home, originally built in the early 18th century. Over the decades, it has been thoughtfully preserved and updated to combine historic charm with modern comforts. Situated right on the Patuxent River, without steep cliffs, this private retreat offers direct access to its own pier, a private beach, pool and a large fire pit. The home benefits from refreshing breezes off the river, helping to keep the property comfortable and cool, and since we are not located on a creek or lake, there are fewer bugs, making outdoor enjoyment even more pleasant. Perfect for year-round relaxation and outdoor fun, the property features fabulous bird watching, fishing off the pier, catching crabs (crab pots provided), building sandcastles on the private beach, enjoying bonfires, grilling and watching boats drift by out of Solomons Island. Adjacent to the pool, there is an outdoor pavilion with a large picnic table, making it an ideal spot for outdoor dining and crab picking. For outdoor adventures, there are kayaks for four, and nearby hiking at Calvert Cliffs provides stunning natural scenery. The main floor hosts one bedroom (queen ) for easy accessibility, while the other three bedrooms (one king, two queens) are accessed via stairs. Managed by a Superhost, this spacious and clutter-free space feels more like an upscale country inn than a typical Airbnb. It includes a dedicated office with a desk, printer, office chair, and reliable Starlink internet, perfect for working remotely or catching up on emails. The pool is open from May through October, with heating available in September and October as outdoor temperatures drop. It features an electric pool cover that can be kept closed for safety, particularly useful for non-swimmers and during the off-season when the pool heater is on. The pool is 4 feet deep, 12 feet wide and 60 feet long. NO diving allowed. There are lots of pool floats and a water volleyball set in garage along with other yard toys and games. At Rousby Hall, we prioritize environmentally friendly practices. No glyphosate-based herbicides are used on the grass, plants, or gravel areas of the property. Guests are encouraged to recycle and to use the barn’s designated recycling bins for proper sorting. Guest access The barn (garage) houses the owner's lawn equipment, and they will have full access at any time to use or remove this equipment as needed. Renters are welcome to store bikes and toys in the garage during their stay. Additionally, they own a beehive located far from the home, so it will not impact guests or their activities. The owners will service the pool regularly, including cleaning skimmers and maintaining equipment and will visit every few days to remove guests' trash and recyclables from the barn. Other things to note We provide boat rides, 75 minutes for $200, for up to 12 people on our 29' center console Sailfish. Chef Wiedmaier can prepare family-style dinners for guests. Price will range from $100-$150 per guest depending on the menu. Dinners are reserved two weeks out due to the chef's schedule. Inquire within for private events, retreats and weddings; additional charges for rental of venue are separate from nightly Air rates. Internet is Starlink with solar power generator when needed. We are located near the end of Rousby Hall Road, across from a single-family neighborhood that borders Mill Creek and is a nice place to walk, run, ride and bike.
