Description
Our place is a bright and airy 1893 farmhouse in the hamlet of Livingston, a scenic farm village in southern Columbia County, two hours north of New York City, and 15 minutes from Hudson, Catskill, Germantown, Tivoli, and Red Hook. The house sits on a shaded 2-acre parcel of open land that is dominated by an enormous 250-year-old maple tree. The interior has been tastefully renovated, with the original plaster walls and hardwood floors intact. The exterior is freshly painted and landscaped. The space In warm weather, there is a glorious screen porch directly off the dining room that is set up for sitting and dining, along with a newly-built deck that runs along the entire back of the house. There is also a front porch and a side sitting porch off the kitchen. In cold weather, there is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, and a fire pit in the yard. The house is equipped with cable television and fibre-optic wifi. The bathrooms are well-appointed with showers in both, a claw-foot tub in one, soft water and good pressure. The kitchen is well equipped and exceptionally easy to cook in. Guest access You are welcome to use all parts of the house, with the exception of the painting studio, which occupies a small, picturesque barn in our backyard.
