Take an interlude this fall or winter at our lakefront cabin nestled at the edge of NH's beautiful White Mountains. Our gorgeous log cabin has all the amenities of home and beautiful lake views. Two single kayaks and paddleboat for guests to enjoy. Lakefront "island" firepit. Grill and outdoor games. Inside is a cozy gas fireplace and board games. Located in recreational community with beaches and sledding hill. 25 min to Sculptured Sand / Ice Castles. 30 mins to Cannon and Loon Mountains. Our cabin has an open main living / dining area with a gas fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. There are two private bedrooms and a bathroom on this floor. The main living area walks out to the spacious deck overlooking the lake. The deck is equipped with dining space for 8 and a propane grill. From the main living area, there are stairs up to a loft that includes two twin beds and a recreation space, including foosball / mini pool table. **Please note that climbing on railings is strictly prohibited, and young children must be supervised while in the loft.** The lower level of the cabin is a finished basement area including a cozy TV room, two private bedrooms, bathroom, and laundry. This level walks out to the backyard and lake. We provide chairs for enjoying the firepit. There are two single kayaks and a paddle boat (pedaled like a bike) on site for lake exploration. Lots of backyard room for running around, on a gradual slope down to the lake. You can swim right from the backyard or at one of the Mountain Lakes community beaches in easy walking distance. Entire cabin except locked owners' closet. Entire property except locked owners' shed. Guests will self-check in via electronic lock. Hosts do not live in the area, but are available via AirBnB messages to assist guests with their enjoyment of the cabin. We also have local resources we can contact if there is an emergency. We're located in the four-season recreational community of Mountain Lakes, and our cabin is lakeside on Upper Mountain Lake. There are two lakes for swimming, kayaking or canoeing (non-motorized boats only), fishing, or ice skating. The lakes are privately owned, so no state license is needed for fishing. Our property is lakefront, or you can enjoy one of the community beaches. In summer there's a pool, basketball court, tennis court, playground, and baseball field and in winter an outdoor ice skating rink and sledding hill (bring own equipment) within Mountain Lakes. Our cabin is a 10 minute drive to downtown Woodsville, which has grocery shopping (Walmart and Shaw's) and local restaurants. We've also got the delicious Hatchland's Creamery for the best maple ice cream around! Within a 40 minute drive, you will find: - The Lost River Gorge and caves and Beaver Pond (20 minutes) - The ice castles (20 minutes) - Skiing at Cannon or Loon Mountain - Shops in Woodstock, Lincoln, and Littleton - Craft breweries (Rek-Lis, Iron Furnace, Schilling) - Clark's Trading Post - Franconia Notch State Park (The Flume, the Basin, Old Man of the Mountain Historic Site, Echo Lake) - Various hiking trails, ponds, and streams throughout the White Mountains - Kancamagus scenic drive & moose sightings - Collins corn maze (in fall) - 15 minutes to VT border - Local farmstands - So much more to explore! (note that reservations are required for many area attractions - plan ahead and book in advance of your stay!) You'll need a car to get around town, but within the Mountain Lakes community you can walk or bike to the shared beach. Our cabin is located on a dirt road which is well-maintained by the community, but still can be slippery in winter. Additionally, most visitors will reach our cabin by driving through the White Mountains on Route 112, which can be hazardous in stormy winter conditions. For Nov - Mar stays, we recommend that your vehicle is equipped for driving in winter conditions. If the dates you'd like to book are not available, try checking out the listing for our sister cabin, also lakeside, down the road at Blue Loon cabin. Mountain Lakes is a peaceful community with a mix of seasonal vacationers and renters and year-round residents. Please keep noise to a minimum so that all of our community members can enjoy the peacefulness of our beautiful setting. We do have a few life jackets on site, but they may or may not fit the individuals in your party. Mountain Lakes requires that children 14 and under wear life jackets while boating on the lake. You likely won't have cell phone service in our community, but can set up your phone for wifi calling once you're here. Internet service is very reliable. Our property is pet friendly for well-behaved pets. These must be disclosed to us at time of booking.
