True Artist Loft, 5 minutes to downtown Mystic
The Dacha, as it has lovingly been called for almost 80 years was built in 1945 originally as a studio for the artist that resided on the property. The unique structure is truly one of a kind, fully insulated for winter and tucked away from the road, sitting on a quiet piece of land, just 5 minutes to downtown Mystic. Enjoy modern comforts and a designers decor, while settling in front of the fire, or taking a short drive to all that Mystic has to offer- hiking, water, shops and restaurants. The dacha is designed with a unique, European artist flair. Keeping true to its origin, art books abound, along side cozy spaces for reading and relaxing. A campfire with adirondack chairs, blankets, and s'mores await your enjoyment while you listen to the owls woot on nearby tress. Guests have full access to the Dacha or Guesthouse. There is a fire pit, they are welcome to enjoy. There is also a large patio and outdoor dining table they can use. Outdoor spaces are shared with the host and family, who live next door in the white farmhouse. Privacy for our guests is highly regarded. We'll give a wave if we see you! The host is available via text at any time. She resides in the farmhouse next door, and is available for questions or help. The Dacha sits on an incredible lay of land, tucked away from the street, This hidden gem is only a 5 minute drive to downtown mystic, or 25 min. walk. It is the best of both worlds. The dacha has its own circular driveway and parking spot in front of the house. The kitchen is quaint, and has two burners, a dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, and toaster oven, and small microwave. There is no full sized oven. Guests are required to walk up stairs to access the bedroom. The bathroom is also located on the second floor loft, along with the washer and dryer. The fireplace inside the Dacha is propane and hooked up to a thermostat. It will automatically turn on and off to keep temp consistent. The Dacha is fully insulated, with a technique that allowed the architect to maintain its original interior beams. It stays very warm through winter.
