Fairwinds Lake House

Fairwinds Lake House is a waterfront luxury cottage built in 2020. With its private water access, large deck and amazing sunset views it is the perfect location for your family vacation. Fairwinds looks out on Lake Huron and is a 10 min. drive to Tobermory. ***Guest limit is 10. The space This brand new 2300 sq ft waterfront cottage is located on a quiet road near the tip of the Bruce Peninsula overlooking Fathom Five National Marine Park and just steps from the water. Tobermory is a 10 minute drive away. You can stroll along the boardwalk, visit the shops or eat some locally caught Georgian Bay whitefish. Boat cruises to view shipwrecks, lighthouses and Flowerpot Island are a must! The interior is tastefully and comfortably decorated with luxury finishes. The large windows provide a stunning view of Lake Huron. Family and friends have space to gather in the large open kitchen and living room as well as the family entertainment room on the second floor. The deck is made for entertaining with a BBQ, Muskoka chairs and dining table while providing panoramic views of the surrounding trees and lake. Evening sunsets are breathtaking while relaxing on the Lake Deck. The beautiful limestone shoreline is a mix of flat rock, rocks and pebble with a gradual entry in the water making it a great place for children to swim safely. The lake is crystal clear and good for snorkelling, kayaking and especially swimming. Swim shoes are recommended. Please be mindful of the changing winds and waves of the lake. Four single kayaks, a stand up paddle board and life jackets are available to use at your own risk from mid May - Oct.1. Relax at night by the fire pit with comfortable chairs, roasting sticks and firewood. The beauty of the night sky as part of the UNESCO World’s Biosphere Dark Sky Preserve is not to be missed. *Please honour the neighbours and community with Quiet Hours from 10pm to 9am. There are toys, books, board games and outdoor games. There is high speed Internet. Disney Plus or your own streaming accounts are available on the TV as well as a DVD player. The internet is Starlink and the fastest available in the area. The cottage is on a septic tank and drilled well water with water filtration and has a UV treated, iron removal and softener system. ***Occupancy: 10 guests total. 8 adults maximum (age 13 and up), plus 2 children (age 12 and under). This total is in accordance with the Short Term Accommodation Licensing of Northern Bruce Peninsula and no exceptions can be made *** ***No pets. No smoking. July and August - 4 night stay minimum September to June 3 - night stay minimum. ***Names and ages of guests required at booking. Any additions or subtractions must be sent prior to check-in and may not exceed the guest limit. Only guests who are included in the reservation are permitted on the property at any time. There is a security camera outside to help protect the property. We use self check-in although if you prefer someone to meet you, we can arrange that as well. The cottage also has a house alarm you will have your own code for should you wish to use it. Please contact prior to booking if you have any questions regarding occupancy. Guest access Only guests included in the reservation are permitted on the property at any time. No visitors are allowed for any reason. You will have access to the property and the lake in front. Please respect our neighbour’s waterfront space and stay in front of our cottage. We ask that you only use the unfinished basement to get outdoor games and lawn chairs. Please do not use the chest freezer, tools or any other items located in the basement or use the basement for any other purpose. Other things to note Dealing with garbage properly is important for the conservation of the peninsula. Please help us make it possible to not have to ask our guests to take garbage home with them by following instructions. Garbage and recycling are picked up on Monday morning and must be in the bin at the end of the lane. Loose garbage bags will be opened quickly by local wildlife! Even if you’re not checking out, it’s a good idea to put out what garage you do have anyway. The instructions are in the Cottage Binder on site. Please keep in mind that only 2 garbage bags plus recycling are allowed each week by the municipality. If you are staying for 3-4 days, keep your garage to one bag and 2 bags max for a week long stay There is a municipal waste management site close by where garbage and recycling may also be dropped off on certain days. When you check out, please put your garbage and recycling in the bear proof bin at the road even if it is not garbage day but under no circumstance, should you leave more than the allowed amount. No tents are allowed on the property. VERY IMPORTANT!!! ***Please respect the neighbours and the community and keep your noise down, especially at night. Please honour the community by keeping Quiet Hours from 10pm to 9am. *** Please note if a fire ban is in effect for the area before using the firepit for your campfire. No large or open fires are permitted. *** Absolutely no fireworks at any time. Any fireworks or cigarette (or anything that was smoked) butts found on the ground will result in a loss of the security deposit of $500.
