In just 2 train stops to America's Birthplace downtown, enjoy natural forest surroundings sipping a cocktail and spot a fox, groundhog, a rabbit or two... A historical getaway in one of the oldest communities of the 1st US Capital - The City of Brotherly Love. It is nestled in the tree-lined originally Lenni-Lenape (Men-among-Men) Delaware Indians land presently known as the Main Line of Philadelphia. More than a hundred years ago the Main Line area had attracted expansion of the largest public corporation in the world, with a budget greater than that of the U.S. government, the Pennsylvania Rail Road. There had been strict preconditions to build in this area, one of which was to present a unique architectural project; small enclaves of distinctly fashioned colonials, built as commuter homes for railroad executives soon spread across the landscape in Lower Merion Township, the Main Line frontier. Every house is different yet shares a unifying design vocabulary. Our colonial revival home was erected in the year 1916, and hasn't been rebuilt or refinished since. It was well preserved over the century. Most of its decorative interior features, furniture settings and even its lay out remain intact. We are walking distance from Albert C. Barnes' historic home, domain of the Arboretum and archives and also very close to the oldest American Quaker Friends Meeting House in Merion. 10 minute walk to celebrated pubs and restaurants of the little town of Narberth. Bicycles for local wandering are available. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
