Walking distance to the light rail, with transit access to downtown St. Paul, Minneapolis, U of M, sports stadiums, Mall of America, and MSP airport. Fully furnished, updated kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bath, and large living and dining rooms. Grocery store, parks, brewpub, and food hall in the neighborhood. This apartment is not childproofed and is not recommended for guests with infants or young children. The space About the House This is an owner-occupied upper/lower duplex. The house was constructed in 1892 and moved to its present location in 1909 as part of Cass Gilbert’s architectural design plan for the University of Minnesota campus. The architectural style of the house is Arts and Crafts/Prairie School and it is listed as a contributor to the historic district along with many others in the neighborhood. The rental unit is a 1,200 square-foot upper level duplex apartment with tree-top views of the neighborhood, including the iconic Witch’s Hat water tower (rumored to be the inspiration for Bob Dylan's song "All Along the Watchtower"). As with many homes built in this era, there are a number of features to this home that add to its historic charm, like cast iron radiators for heat in the winter, large open living and dining spaces, and vintage hardwood floors. The usual tradeoffs that come with old houses apply here - temperature control takes some patience, the bathroom and kitchen are small, and the original hardwood floors are creaky. We’ve made updates as needed and have furnished the space to make guests comfortable, and we work to maintain the house’s original features. If you appreciate the charms of a 125-year-old home, this is the place for you. Our Commitment to the Planet: Our home is powered by renewable energy through the Windsource program. We minimize waste through single-stream recycling and an organic composting program. Level 2 EV charging (J1772 connector) is available during off-peak hours for guests driving electric vehicles. Guest access Guests have full and private access to the entire unit, including two bedrooms, large living room, dining room, kitchen, and full bath. Other things to note The unit is cleaned according to CDC guidelines. We have spaced our bookings in order to allow at least 48 hours between guests. A keypad enables a no-contact self-check-in process. This apartment is not childproofed and is not recommended for guests with infants or young children. Registration Details STR-395187
