Welcome to your Folly paradise! This rustic 1940's beach bungalow was updated with modern appliances, brand new luxury bathroom, art, surfboards, 60" 4K smart TV ready for your subscriptions, stereo with bluetooth, and a huge outdoor shower. Guests love the privacy of having a secluded, full-sized property with great outdoor spaces, parking, and a short walk to the beach, bars and restaurants- for the same rate as a noisy condo. A retreat for guests that want a true old school folly vibe. The space This cottage is your private Folly Beach retreat, just two blocks to the beach (with an access directly across from the house) and 4 blocks to the restaurants, bars, Bert's market, and Center Street, just a short walk away. The street is one off the main drag, so it's super quiet, with privacy from the neighbors and traffic. The front deck is styled out with plenty of seating, Adirondack chairs, cool plants, and bistro lights for a perfect nighttime vibe. Our goal was to create a super relaxing space to share with our family and friends. Guests love that we are just two 'skinny blocks' from the beach (500 ft.), and only four blocks to the bars and restaurants of Center Street. Please note other than the newly remodeled bathroom, this is an older circa 1940 beach bungalow, not a luxury accommodation for guests with delicate sensibilities. Please keep that in mind when you book and leave reviews. License # LIC004868 2 Night Minimum Common Questions: - How close to the beach? There is a public beach access one house over, requiring that you walk across two 'skinny blocks' to get to a beautiful public beach- about 500 feet. -What's up with the golf cart? We have a cart conveniently located at the house that can be rented through our friends at Charleston Golf Cart Rentals. - Whats the TV situation? We have a 55" Smart TV, along with an AppleTV, Vizio smart cast, Netflix and a proper stereo with Bluetooth. - Do you provide towels and linens? Yes! Bath towels and bed linens are included, but please bring your own beach towels, blankets, and tapestries! - Do you provide beach towels? No, please bring your own. Our housekeeping team does a fantastic job cleaning and providing supplies but you will need to bring your own beach towels, beach blankets, tapestries, chairs etc for your beach hang outs. Please do not take our blankets, towels, sheets etc. out on the beach for any reason. - Can we cook? Yes! There is a range, stainless appliances, and a full set of knives, pots, pans and cookware. -Whats the coffee maker situation? There is a Mr. Coffee drip pot as well as a large french press for the coffee snobs. -Why are the fees/cost so high? We know, it's gotten ridiculous. It didn't used to be this bad, and we're sorry. Believe me, we don't receive any of those and get hit just as hard as the owners. Rates/minimum stays are seasonal and as much as 3x higher during popular summer times and weekends. We actually cover a portion of our housekeeping cost, because they do an amazing job and are the best we've found. My wife and I personally mange every booking to break even at the end of the year (factoring in coastal insurance, flood, property tax, charleston county accommodations tax, folly beach accommodation tax, STR license tax, business license tax, mortgage, water, electric, wifi, groundskeeping, supplies, cleaning and never-ending maintenance on this 1940's cottage). - What is your refund policy? Please review the reservation terms and cancellation policies carefully, as we do NOT provide refunds for hurricanes (unless mandatory evacuation), travel delays, or other emergency circumstances. We HIGHLY recommend purchasing travel insurance through Airbnb or a trusted third-party provider to protect your trip. Things do happen and we will refer you to customer support for any further information should you need to cancel. - Can we check-in early? Probably not! Please don't show up early. Are you sure? YES. Please don't show up early and watch us clean. - How do I turn on the party lights?? The party switch is by the sink in the kitchen. Enjoy!
