Blue Heron Cottage

Blue Heron Cottage is one of Smith Islands newest jewels. It is located on Rhodes Point, Md. After a 40 minute enjoyable ride on the ferry through the Tangier Sound, the captain will drop you off directly in front of the house. You can enjoy kayaking through the tributaries (we supply two kayaks with life vests), take in the breathtaking views of the sunsets, take a tour of a crab shanty, crab or fish off the dock, or order authentic Smith Island cake and/or meals to be delivered to your door. The space Blue Heron Cottage is a perfect place to learn the lifestyle of the watermen and history of Smith Island. The charm and hospitality of the locals are refreshing and rejuvenating.
