Private room in 130 year old house on Capitol Hill
Description
Temporary situation: I am not able to offer my listing currently because I have four foster kittens who have taken over the room. If you happen to be a huge cat lover and willing to share with them, write me a private message and we might be able to open for you to stay at a significant discount. No promises, and I never open the room on Friday and Saturday nights. The space Frogtown area - inner city neighborhood, mixed ethnic, amazing Asian restaurants on University Ave. One block from the Green Line, which goes to U of M, US Bank Stadium, Mpls, and the airport. Close to 94 and 35E. MN Capitol, cathedral, and downtown St Paul in walking distance, including Mississippi River, all of the museums, Excel Center. My house was built in 1886 and is somewhat restored in that style. Sadly, the age of the house means that it is not easily accessible if you have a physical handicap. There are steps to get in and bath is on the second floor. I have a lovely large garden that I am glad to share. Guest access I'd prefer that guests not use the kitchen, except for storing items in the fridge and heating things in the microwave. The garden (with table and chairs) is available at any time, and we will share the bathroom. Because I work from home a lot, this listing is best suited to people who have plans for the day. If you are here for several days, we can work out more usage of living spaces when I am out of the house, but mainly you should plan to be out and about during the daytime hours. No unregistered guests in the house, please. I can suggest some nice cafes or other places where you can hang out with your friends or family who live in the area. During your stay I do need quiet and lights out at night. I will show you how to prevent light from disturbing my sleep after dark. Playing music or any electronic noise is a no go when I'm home, so bring your ear buds. No promises, and I never open the room on Friday and Saturday nights. Please note that I take a sabbath from electronics from Friday 6pm to Sunday 6am, so you won't hear back from me if you try to book during that time. I also turn off electronics at supper time, so it is nearly impossible to book last minute in the evenings. I won't see your request until the next morning. If you work around these two restrictions, however, you will find that I am very quick to respond and try my best to accommodate your needs. I do have a fragrance-free house, in case that is important to someone. I do not forbid guests from using fragrances, but prefer if you keep it to a minimum. For that reason, if a recent guest used fragrance, you will probably notice a lingering scent in your room. I have two cats who take a while to warm up to strangers and another who will probably introduce himself. Registration details 20180002768
