Cade’s Place cottage is our restored guest cottage at Shady Oaks Farm. We have kept a rustic theme but have the modern comforts of today including wifi, usb ports, heat/ac, a large patio with an hot tub and a cozy gas fireplace. We are located 3 miles from the trendy shops and fabulous restaurants of downtown Clayton. 7 miles north of Tallulah Falls. Wineries, distilleries, golf courses, boating, waterfalls and hiking are also nearby. The space The living room has a comfortable sleeper sofa, an armchair with an ottoman, a flat screen tv with Hulu, Netflix and CBSnews and a warm gas fireplace for cold winter days. The cottage also has air conditioning and heat. The bedroom has a queen bed with a pillowtop mattress and luxury linens, a flat screen tv with Hulu, Netflix and CBS news, a small sitting area and a closet with a full length mirror. An iron, ironing board, extra pillows, games and robes are also provided. There is a noise machine for light sleepers beside the bed as well as charging stations on either side for most cell phones and tablets. The kitchen is small but has full size appliances including a Kuerig for coffee, plenty of dishes, pots, pans, glassware and a blender. Basic spices, foil and oils are available for your cooking needs. The rustic decorated bathroom has a vanity, toilet and shower. The french doors in the living room lead to the spacious patio that was built for outdoor living. We repurposed it from the stables where our horses were once kept. There is a porch swing, chairs in a cozy sitting area, a large family sized table, a gas grill, a hammock and a beverage frig. This is the place for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Our guest can stream music, work on laptops and surf the internet as our wifi works great on the patio as well as in the cottage. All of this under one little tin roof. When it rains it creates music. Just outside the patio area is our repurposed chicken coop that now houses the outdoor shower. It is totally private, has hot water, lighting for showering after dark and the same shower essentials as the cottage. Just bring your towel! The yard in front of the cottage is great for kids and dogs. The fire pit is located there. Wood, fire starter bricks and roasting sticks are provided for marsh mellows and hot dogs. Extra outdoor chairs are available. BRINGING A DOG? For our 4 legged guest: Please let us know if you are bringing a dog as we use different rugs, sofa covers etc. We are extremely dog friendly. We ask to pre approve families with dogs over 80 lbs or more than 1 dog. The fee for 1 dog is $35 per stay , for 2 dogs $60 per stay. We provide leashes, bowls and flashlights to help with our furry guest. The neighborhood is great for dog walking and we have a huge grassy space for dogs that are trained off leash to run and play fetch. We ask that if you leave your dog in the cottage that it is left in a crate. We can provide one and have it set up for you if needed. We have recently added a fenced in area that is conveniently attached to the cottage. Dogs cannot be left alone in the yard. Our welcome book in the cottage is filled with area attractions, restaurant recommendations, shopping, hiking and waterfalls. Guest access Guest have the entire cottage facing their own private yard, fire pit, the cottage has its own parking area and outdoor shower. Private fenced yard. Other things to note PLEASE list any dog/dogs on your reservation so we know they are staying with you. $35 per dog per visit.
