Enjoy the beauty that eastern Minnesota has to offer in this serene vacation home located just outside of Scandia, Minnesota. This fully furnished guest house sleeps up to 5 people and comes with two bedrooms, a cozy living room, bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. This is a perfect year-round vacation home for a romantic getaway or weekend with the family. Located between Taylors Falls and Stillwater. This space has been completely renovated with solid hickory cabinets and doors. New flooring has been installed throughout. The bathroom is new with a beautifully tiled shower, new toilet, and vanity. The guest house has on-demand domestic hot water for long warm showers if desired. All new Stainless steel appliances have been installed including refrigerator, gas oven and cooktop, microwave, and washer and dryer. The guest house has a mini-split HVAC system so you can adjust the temp as you desire from nice and cool to cozy warm. During the winter months, the hydronic floor heat is turned on to keep it cozy warm. A new air purification system was installed recently and an electric fireplace was installed in mid-November to add ambiance and a backup heat source. Box fans and supplemental electric heaters are provided for each bedroom. This is a large property and in the winter months, there may be ice, snow, and slippery spots on the driveway, parking areas, or on trails. We do our best with snow removal and have shovels and ice melt in visible locations if it's needed. Please be careful and alert us ASAP if you have any concerns. Please be careful. Entire guest house and 50 acres of walking trails in our beautiful woods. Trails are very obvious and can be accessed just a few steps from the guest house front door. Tip - can be bugs at times. Prepare by bringing bug spray. When there is snow on the ground we will have snowshoes and 50 acres of trails to snowshoe on. At your request, you can have a nice campfire to warm up by. We prefer all communications to go through the Airbnb app. Explore the Swedish charm that Scandia has to offer by stepping back in time at Gammelgarden, an open-air museum that offers a glimpse into the daily lives of Swedish immigrants in Minnesota. Be sure to grab a drink and dinner at the local pub, Meisters or the Thirsty Buffalo Saloon. For nature lovers, William O'Brien State Park is just a 5-minute drive away. Spend the day surrounded by the beauty of Minnesota woodlands and prairies, relax at the swimming beach or traverse the 12 miles of hiking trails in the summer and cross country ski or snowshoe in the winter. Also, be sure to check out historic Stillwater just 25 minutes south or beautiful Taylors Falls just 20 minutes north. There are many nearby walking and biking trails. The guest house is nestled within one end of a large workshop and was part of a recent remodel which included increasing the private workshop footprint around one end of the guest house. As a result, the small kitchen window above the sink and one of the bedroom windows, no longer open outside. You can open them in case of an emergency. Both of these windows can be locked (by you) from the inside of the guest house and both windows have blinds for privacy. We have placed an outdoor scene (large format photo) that you will see when you open the blinds. When you do open the blinds you cannot see outside and we cannot see inside the guest house. Each of the 2 bedrooms has an emergency exit thru the window. The emergency exit door located in one of the bedrooms does open into the private workshop if there were an emergency that required you to use this door. We do respect our guest's privacy and are very quiet around the guest house and property. We just wanted you to know about this in advance of booking a stay with us. A couple of guests have asked about the green illuminated disc's, one on the guest house outside corner wall, and one on the garage near our home. These devices make up a wireless bridge and enable guests to have internet access, via "Airbnb Guest WIFI". - See the last photo in our listing. We just added a new ventilation/ air purification system in this space as an added step to help ensure the safety of our guests. This property has a lot of nice blacktop surfaces for inline skating or skateboarding. Additionally, we have a great area and equipment for our guests to enjoy disc golf.
