The space A stay at Hickory Lookout is a memorable experience. The creative, artistic detail to every subtle nuance makes the house a big, walk-in sculpture. The spiral staircase takes you up to the dreamy little A-frame bedroom loft with windows overlooking the Blue Ridge Parkway treetops on one side, and private forest on the other. We are tucked away on the side of the mountain, high enough for a view, but low enough to get to highway 321 in less than a minute's drive. We are just on the edge of historic Blowing Rock, and only 10 minutes from Boone. (Both full of excellent restaurants.) We are less than a minute drive from the 90,000-acre national park - blue ridge parkway. Our large brick patio affords a view out over the beautiful forested mountainscape and has a big wood-burning fireplace in the corner for serious memory-making, dancing flame ambiance as well as perfect for grilling on hot coals. Anyone wanting to cook-in will be pleased by our very well-stocked kitchen with granite counters for food-prep, as well as a custom live-edge maple counter and bar. The spectacular all-custom interior is 100% homegrown lumber, all locally grown, harvested, and milled; from the skip-dressed oak floors to the white-pine ceiling and wide poplar-board paneling. You will be hard-pressed to ever find another house with as much custom local woodwork. The excellent lighting, cathedral ceiling and ceiling fan, central air, all make this stylish exciting architectural house art very comfortable. The custom tile work on the kitchen and bathroom floors adds an artistic, nice clean feeling. The additional bonus "man-cave" building just beside the A-Frame (literally 12 inches away) with separate entrance houses two bunk-beds making it also a great space for kids or teens! Parents, please realize if you plan on your children staying in the creative, fun Sidekick, even though it is only 12 inches away, it is a separate door entrance. Hickory has a convenient street-light over the paved driveway and parking with flowers surrounding the house, all adding up to comfort, convenience, and beauty! We have desks for working from home, and a great wifi signal to stream whatever you want on the flat-screen 4K smart TV with a NetFlix account provided. The TV is coupled with an impeccable state of the art Sonos sound system decked out with Alexa to play your unlimited access to amazon music.
