Sleeping Bear Cabin is located in Banner Elk, within walking distance to Grandfather Vineyards and convenient to Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Downtown Banner Elk and Boone. Easy access off NC 105 and close to restaurants, activities (i.e. rafting, skiing, hiking, alpine coaster and fishing) and shopping. The cabin has undergone a complete renovation inside. Please note- while we are dog friendly, we do ask you keep pets off the beds, pillows and blankets. This is a non-smoking cabin. The space Sleeping Bear Cabin is a cozy cabin nestled in trees in Sleepy Hollow. It is available to guests featuring a living space, dining area and eat-in kitchen on the first level. A bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath with full-sized washer and dryer, is also located on this level. The kitchen is fully stocked for those who want to cook during their stay. Upstairs there is a loft with a table to work or play games, sofa and a bunk bed with a twin mattress over a full bed, allowing sleeping space for three people. A large bedroom with a queen bed is off the loft, in additional to a second full bath. Plenty of space is available for everyone to spread out and enjoy their time. There are two outdoor deck areas to enjoy including the full front deck. The cabin has two mini-split units, allowing heating/air conditioning adjustments for each floor. There are screens on the windows for those who prefer to enjoy the fresh air. A baby gate is available for the safety of our littlest guests. High speed internet is provided, allowing guests to work or stream movies and TV shows on the 4K smart TV-no need a to bring a streaming device. Guest access Sleeping Bear Cabin has a totally keyless entry system for a seamless check-in/check out process. Other things to note Sleeping Bear Cabin is a dog friendly cabin and allows up to two house-trained dogs. We do ask you to keep your furry friends off the beds, comforters, blankets and pillows. Also, we ask your pets be crated when left alone in the cabin. Our dog fee is $60 total per stay and we ask this is paid prior to arrival. Unannounced pets (where pet fees are not paid prior to arrival), will incur a $100 dog fee. We ask our guest to complete a few tasks prior to checking out of the cabin-please load all dishes into the dishwasher and start before leaving. Place all used linens and sheets in then bathroom near the washer and dryer and please start at least a load of laundry before you leave (laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided). Failure to start the dishwasher and/or a load of laundry may result in an additional fee of $50. Please help us keep our cleaning fee low by starting these two tasks before your departure. Please take your trash to the recycling center during your stay and before you leave (they are closed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays-if your departure date falls on one of these days, please take your trash the day before. We will make arrangements for the last day’s trash to be removed.) The recycle center is less than 1/2 mile from the cabin. Although it is not required, having a 4-wheel drive vehicle during the winter months may be helpful to maneuver the driveway. We are a smoke-free cabin. Please refrain from smoking inside. Failure to comply with this will result in a fee of $250. Finally, Sleeping Bear Cabin is located in an established neighborhood.
