Fox Den is located on a private mountain property called Fern Rock. It has a fire pit, hot tub, spring fed pond, and covered porch with a grill. It is 390 sq ft, has one queen bed, a kitchen/living area, and a futon suitable for children. Important: Wi-Fi is now available. AWD / 4WD is required Fawn Hideaway, a one room cottage next to the Fox Cabin is NOT for rent or included in this listing. Whether you want to relax in a hammock on a lazy summer day, take a hike through the fall foliage, enjoy a hot tub soak in winter, or plan a spring picnic, Fox Den offers a romantic vacation getaway for a couple or a small family. The double futon in the living area may be used for one or two children to sleep on, when requested in advance of the stay. Meals can be prepared in the fully equipped kitchen or on the gas grill. There is indoor and outdoor tables for two. The Fox Den front covered porch runs the length of the cabin and there is a side and back deck. Relax while soaking in the outdoor hot tub, sit around the back fire pit, or follow the meandering hiking trail down to the Pond. Fawn cottage is NOT currently being rented: Right next door to Fox is Fawn cottage, an adorable 165 sq ft, one room log cabin that serves as a detached second bedroom for the Fox Den (no bathroom). PLEASE NOTE: Fawn cottage is only rented as an addition to Fox Den; NEVER as a separate rental. So, you won't have strangers sharing your Fox Den bathroom or kitchen. ------ Guest access Fox Guests have access to: A covered porch with rocking chairs A private deck with Hot tub at Fox Den, seats 4 Swimming pond with dock and floatables; catch & release fishing permitted A fire pit A Weber gas grill Two cleared walking trails Outdoor games provided in the guest shed Fox Den is positioned high up on a knoll and 200 yards from the Fern Rock Lodge. The Lodge is a large antique log home on an adjacent knoll. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, an amazing detached screened porch, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Shared areas between Fox and Lodge guests include the main driveway, the Guest Shed with adjacent parking area, the pond, front meadow, and the woods surrounding the property up to the ridge line. Please make every effort to respect the privacy of Lodge guests. Other things to note Important Notes: 1. The cabins are built on a knoll and there are some steep areas. Being sure-footed is necessary for walking between buildings and exploring the property. 2. The driveway is steep. All wheel drive vehicles are recommended in good weather and four-wheel drive in icy/snowy weather. Parking is also available at base of the Fox driveway if needed. 3. Children of all ages are very welcome but need adult supervision all times. Wide-spaced porch railings, some high elevations/steep areas, the pond, the hot tub, and gas log fireplace are potential hazards. Parents of young children need to be extra vigilant, especially for little ones (under 2 years old). 4. GPS may not provide accurate directions. Directions can be provided after your reservation is confirmed, but feel free to inquire before booking, if needed. 5. Fox Den now has wifi.
