Quiet comfort at a reasonable price

No cleaning fee! Guests (1-3 people) get 2 rooms and private bath off to one side of the living room. Large air-conditioned bdr has double bed, desk, armchair; other bdr has ceiling fan, mini-fridge, microwave, some dishes, table, and twin bed. Mexican touches. WiFi, no TV. A tranquil house in a quiet neighborhood. Hablo espanol. I recycle, reuse, prefer natural fragrance-free products, native plants and organic veggies in yard. Pet cat. Book a day or more in advance. The space Ilene's house, much like Ilene herself, is mid-century model, showing its age but still fully functional, neat, clean, and pleasant. I strive for simple comfort. My background as Latin American historian is pretty obvious wherever you look. Guests and I use the same entrance. The house is small, so we will hear one another once in a while, but mostly it is very quiet. The garden of drought-resistant native plants and organic vegetables is always a work in progress, with big seasonal changes and never neatly manicured. Feel free to look around, sit on a boulder, or read on the porch. Keep an eye out for deer and wild turkeys in the front yard and street. Guest access Guests enter the house via the front door and pass through the living room to the guest area. The guest area is quite large, giving guests a separate space for socializing and eating. They can also can use the back patio and front porch--both are very pleasant in nice weather. Lots of hummingbirds, jays, occasional woodpeckers, two kinds of squirrels! Guests have their own microwave, mini-fridge, and electric kettle. They may not use house kitchen or refrigerator. Curbside parking in front of house under a streetlight. Bus service has recently been reduced. Uber, Lyfit, and taxis are alive and well in Eugene. Grocery stores and casual eateries at 1/2 , 3/4 , and 1 mile. During your stay This is my home. I am around much of the time and will happily help guests when I can. Because many people pass through the house, as a safety precaution I tend to keep a 6-foot distance from my guests. I am fully vaccinated and "boosted" many times. Guests do not need to mask. Other things to note ONE vehicle per booking, except by prior arrangement. No boats or tows. My cat is indoor/outdoor, occasionally but not routinely friendly. She stays out of the guest area. Guests with mild cat allergies have not had problems.
