Your room includes nearby access to your own private full bath with tub and shower, and use of our full second kitchen and dining room on the same basement level. When the season permits you're welcome to relax in our sun room, light a fire in the wood burning stove, or perhaps experience the sight, sound, and aromas of a thunderstorm or gentle spring rain from the protection of our wrap around porch. We have a natural gas outdoor grill which you're welcome to use should you have the urge for some flame seared meat and/or vegetables. You may see us or you may not. It all depends on your schedule. We enjoy interaction but understand if you prefer your privacy. Our home sits on a quiet horseshoe shaped street with little traffic. Most owners have large 2+ acre lots like ours giving the feeling of being in the country. Yet we're minutes from downtown Crete with more than 5 eating establishment, and about 10 minutes to grocery stores, expressways and the Chicago area metra system A 10 minute walk to the local bus stop and a 10 minute drive to the Electric Line that can whisk you into Chicago's Loop in under an hour. Our home is usually quiet and peaceful. We have four other airbnb "spaces" which most of the time are occupied so there can be a lot going on. We will do all we can to make your stay more than you expected, but come prepared for the occasionally unexpected. Guests have full access to the basement including their private room, private bath, shared guest kitchen and household laundry room. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the sun room on the main floor. Two Metra Electric train line stations are 5 and 10 minutes away with inexpensive parking fees. The train will take you into the heart of Chicago in approximately 1 hour.
