Awesome Lake View. A-Frame Cottage on Lake Erie with plenty of parking for our fishing guest boat trailer, 3 bed, 1 bath (tub shower), lovely corner Lakefront/Lake view and rocky beach in front of house. Loft with pool table. Built in 70’s, early American decor. Good for women’s retreat in fall, host an educational retreat, or a couple who wants to spend time together in a quiet place with and excellent view (extra guest fee over 4 guest, 5 people max). Prices include bed tax of 6%. Legend has it that Danny won this wooded property in a friendly card game in the 70's and eventually built this A-frame house affording the Million-Dollar View! This property will offer you an inspiring view.  It has one of the most desirable views of the Lake and Ceder Point Amusement Park.  It is from this view that my father, Dan Ahner created and fulfilled his dreams. (i.e. Caddy Shack Square downtown Kelleys Island etc). The price of this property is set for up to 4 people.  If you would like to bring an extra person to brainstorm your future, the house has capacity for 5 adults (note: extra guest fee over 4 guests).   You can easily see in the pictures that this property is early American style and kept clean and tidy. There are 2 bedrooms which each have double beds and one bedroom which has twin beds. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower combo with shower curtain. The Kitchen has fridge/freezer, dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, coffee pot. Dishes, utensils, pans. (All appliances need to be turned off when not attended). Bed linens, bath towels and beach towels provided. Washer and Dryer available for your use. Grill located on Deck. There’s room for 2 vehicles or one vehicle and trailer. Basic Amazon prime available (i.e. internet TV only) No worries about added bed tax when you arrive, it is included in the price. If you still need more space, the garage was split into an apartment for his daughter Patty, and eventually an upstairs apartment was added, commonly called "the Condo" and is also available by the week through AirBNB (i.e. Pattys Condo on the Lake with one double bed hosts 2 person max). Please note: Wifi is available but direct ethernet connection to router is not listed as an amenity and is not available in the house. The island has an ongoing challenge with internet service but generally it is stable but not guaranteed. Owner more responsive (by text) between 11:30am-12:30pm and between 7pm and 8 pm House is located on a Lovely Corner Lot southeast side of island with amazing view of lake and on a clear day, and a beautiful view of Cedar Point. CP fireworks can be seen from the private beach, (shhhh, don't tell anyone or it won't be private long). 7 min drive to downtown but a nice long walk or golf cart drive as well. Downtown has several Restaurants/Bars, Shops, several gas or quiet/clean electric golf cart rentals, small grocery store (Island Market) for essentials of foods, cigarettes, beer/wine, ice (Caddy Shack Square offers 18 hole old-fashioned Putt-Putt, Gem Mining Station and Rock Shop, coffee shop / bakery, pizza/sub restaurant/bar, tiki bar and grill, souvenir shopping, tie-dye clothing shop, The Little Healing Room - Wellness Center (for that much deserved Massage, Reiki or Acupuncture treatment), ice cream shoppe, electric golf carts and bicycle rental). Outside of downtown Kelleys Island also offers a sand beach, state park campground / boat ramp, stone/pebble beach, microbrewery, and winery several state park hiking trails. Taxi and prearranged fishing charter services. The islands historical offerings are Glacial Grooves left by ice age and Inscription (rock carvings from possible Native American Indians who inhabited island at one point in history). Kelleys Island also hosts the Charles Herndon Gallery and his art and amazing rock sculptures. House is appx. 5-7 min drive to downtown. Car ferry leaves from Marblehead, Ohio (kelleysislandferry.com) (app 25-30 min ride). Jet-Express Passenger Ferry (jet-express.com) leaves from Sandusky, Ohio (15-20 min ride) every few hours. Please check with individual ferry companies for current schedules. Service tapers off at beginning and end of season with weekends Memorial to Labor Day. Most visitors and islanders use bikes or golf carts on the road for transportation (2, 4 or 6 passenger are most commonly available for rent. Options are gas or the cleaner/quieter electric variety of carts). Cruiser Bicycles are another mode and can be rented. Parking is somewhat limited in the downtown area, so walking is another option. Note: walkways are narrow and uneven in some areas and roads do not have bike lanes. Bicyclists are instructed to ride single-file while on the roads. Taxi Service available. (Island Ride: 419-746-2000) International Airport for small planes and Griffing Air service available out of Port Clinton, OH Jet Express Ferry service offers transportation to Put-in-Bay (another island nearby) and Sandusky, and may offer trips to Cedar Point Amusement Park on limited schedules, please check ahead for availability as it can change year to year. There is a police department downtown and Fire/EMTs are all volunteer. In emergencies, helicopter/Lifeflight to Toledo is employed. Please note: There are 3 steps and wooden handrail to reach deck and side entrance door. Stairs to upstairs loft where pool table is located. Not handicap accessible. I have been informed recently by a guest that the A/C unit does not cool the bedrooms sufficiently if the bedroom doors are closed even with the vents open….There are window fans provided if you want the bedroom doors closed but the AC unit cools the main house rather quickly. As a family home and summer cottage I kept the doors open and fans in windows to hear the lake most of the summer so I was never aware this was the case. No parties or events please. We are not set up for it and like to keep the serenity of the property. NO SMOKING inside home Children under 21 would need to be supervised. House is not set up for small children. No Animals/Pets (Owner has allergies. For pet-friendly options, please contact the Kelleys Island chamber for a large listing of pet-friendly properties on the island. Thank you for your cooperation.) Self check-in with keypad (request code before your visit for smooth transition) Stone/Rock beach out front of house (next door dock not included, please be respectful and do not wonder onto the neighbors dock) Ping pong table stored under pool table can be used on top of Pool Table. If you make that choice, please convert back to pool table for next guest. (thanks in advance) Owner lives behind house in lower garage apartment. Noise level must be kept reasonable so as not to bother neighbors at any time. Windows/doors need to be closed (locked as well to protect valuables) when not in the house in case of unexpected rain which can damage interior. Cleanliness has been and still is our priority (a little OCD). We utilize a probiotic sanitizing spray on surfaces that last 5-7 days for added safety. Beds are currently made up with clean sheets only and summer blanket are provided on the side if needed.
