Romantic Getaway Villa San Bruno BCS Mex.
Great place for a romantic getaway. Watch the sunrise, walk the beach, collect shells, or kayak the bay watching for sea life. A short drive north is Santa Rosalia built by the French hosting a church designed by Gustave Eiffel. To the south is the Bay of Conception with stunning beaches. Whale watching tours, fishing guides, and ancient cave painting tours are available nearby. A little store and evening cafe is directly across the street. Starlink wifi, Smart TV, and Sea kayaks for loan. The apartment is private. The area is safe. And, the local people are very friendly. Romantic Getaway is upstairs with a private balcony. Below is a fire pit and laundry room with beach supplies for our guests. Parking is available behind the house or in front. We live downstairs at the Villa generally during the cooler part of the year. When we are not home Carlos who lives across the street hosts in our absence. Even during the time we are not there in person we are available to you online. The neighborhood is primarily made up of very modest Mexican homes. A delightful family across the street runs a small neighborhood store and take out cafe open most nights of the week selling pizza, tortas, burritos, hot dogs, and hamburgers. Our host when not in San Bruno is Carlos, who is part of this family. The local dogs are either friendly or shy. A lot of the roads are dirt, typical of this authentic Mexican fishing village. The local community is tight knit, mostly related and love to sing on their porches. In addition there are several Americans and Canadians living on the beach on the north side of the marina. You will need a car as there is no public transportation. If you see a bus in the town it is transportation for the locals to get to and from work at the copper mine north of Santa Rosalia. The closest international airport is in Loreto (LTO) 2 1/2 hours south of San Bruno. If driving, San Bruno is located between Santa Rosalia and Mulege on the Mex 1 highway at about the 173 road marker. 1. You will have to climb stairs. 2. We sometimes hear music from a local celebration late into the night, usually on holidays. 3. Occasionally there are stingrays who bask in the sun in sandy water. They can cause a good deal of pain if you are hit by one. A common practice is to shuffle your feet or move the water back and forth with a large stick or oar from one of our sea kayaks to cause them to leave. 4. A fishing trip can be arranged. 5. We fumigate regularly for cockroaches and centipedes. We have a few geckos. Please do not bother them as they help keep the insect population down. 6. Our electricity goes out on occasion, usually not for more than 30 minutes but occasionally longer than that.
