This area features a bike rack, picnic table, a small grassy space, and a sandy beach, all maintained by the township. The bottom consists of a 12" to 18" layer of sand over a clay base. In spring, shifting ice can sometimes uncover the clay, which becomes soft enough to be dug up by hand, though this doesn’t occur every year
