Walk to everything Chicago has to offer- Downtown and Magnificent Mile; North ave beach, zoo and Lincoln park, restaurants, bars, boutiques and nightlife of Old Town and Gold Coast, bring family or friends to this spacious house on a quiet neighborhood street in historic Old Town. This amazing home has 6 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, 3 outdoor areas, 2 stunning kitchens, 2 washers & dryers, 2 parking spaces in a garage, a bar area. It is expandable from small family to large group. Pets welcome This very large house is divided into two areas- the front has 4 bedrooms and the back has 2 bedrooms. You would be renting the entire space, all 6 bedrooms. While the two spaces technically connect, the door between them has been blocked off as I rent the two spaces separately as well. You need to go through the outdoor walkway (still on the property) to get from one half to the other. It is just a few steps between the two front doors, please see pictures. FRONT First floor: a living room with a soaring ceiling and a fireplace plus dining room as one open floor plan, full bath, and kitchen. The large kitchen has a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave. There is also a spacious fully fenced in the front yard with a grill. The second floor has two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The third floor has a large bar with a full-size fridge, dishwasher and a microwave, family room and two more bedrooms with en-suite bath each. There is a deck off one of the bedrooms. BACK: The first floor has a living room with a fireplace plus dining room as one open floor plan, bath and kitchen. The kitchen has a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave. Second floor has one regular bedroom and a two room bedroom suite plus two full bathrooms. There is also a spacious backyard with the second grill and more outdoor seating. Both kitchens are fully stocked if you wish to cook, host or just eat a take out out of real dishware. ACCESSIBILITY There are 14 steps from the main floor to second floor bedrooms WORRY FREE CLEANING PACKAGE At check out you will need to take care of trash overflow, dishes, exuberant messes and any food you brought. The worry free package covers any and all cleaning. Just walk out in the morning (you do need to move furniture back if you make any changes to layout). Note that this fee is additional to my regular cleaning fee you pay when you book the place. This package is best for those who want to decorate, cook a lot, are traveling as a group and would rather split the $185 than worry about anything in the morning. PETS I welcome pets however the following breeds of dogs are not allowed due to insurance limitations: Akita, American Staffordshire, Chow, Doberman Pinscher, Pit Bull, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Wolf hybrid, or any dog that is a mix that includes one or more of the breeds listed above. DECORATING THE HOUSE You are welcome to decorate the house. If you attach anything to the walls, please use paint-safe tape and remove it prior your departure. There is a $200 glitter and confetti fee. Entire property. You will be able to utilize these entire three floors, two spaces in the garage front and back yard and a deck. I have a Superhost status on Airbnb. You can book my property with confidence knowing so many before you truly enjoy their stay and left five star feedback. You can be assured that all amenities will be as described and I am always around to help with anything needed. The house is in east Old Town- best neighborhood in Chicago for both families or if you are looking to have fun. While the street itself is very quiet, tree-lined, and barely has cars passing by, as soon as you turn the corner, you are in the center of everything! Wells street restaurants and bars are steps away. Lincoln Park with the zoo, farm, pond, open spaces, and farmers market is a 7-10 min. walk. North Avenue beach is the same distance. It is perfect for walks, picnics, boat rides, or good old fun in the sand. The beaches are free to the public and have breathtaking city views. Grocery shopping is made easy, seeing as Plum Market and Jewel are located right in the neighborhood. Nearby coffee shops include a 24 hour Starbucks and La Fournette. There are 103 restaurants within a 15 minute walk including some of Chicago's top restaurants including Kamehachi, Topo Gigio, The Fireplace Inn, and Woodies Flat. Bars and lounges are abundant on Wells and are all 1-2 minute walk. Shopping in Old Town is a unique experience; the majority of shops in this neighborhood are boutiques rather than well-known chain stores. Therefore, each and every store is cozy, intimate, and filled with one-of-a-kind goods. The Lincoln Park Zoo is a world of wildlife in the shadow of skyscrapers. The Second City only two blocks away and it is a famous theater that specializes in sketch comedy and improv, and has been delighting audiences for over 50 years. Oak street and beginning of Michigan avenue is about 15-20 minute walk. The house is a five minute walk from the Brown Line and the Purple Line trains at the Sedgwick stop and an eight minute walk from Red line at Clark. It takes be about 15 min to walk to Michigan Ave and Wells street bars are a minute away. Buses, cabs and Uber are also easily accessible. It is about a 3-minute drive to get onto Lake Shore drive at LaSalle and about 8 minutes to Kennedy expressway at North Avenue. You get two parking spaces in a standard residential detached garage on the property with your reservation. Please plan sizes of your cars accordingly. There is free street parking on some of the side streets and in a lot next door but it is not guaranteed. Inexpensive Spothero parking is available in the area as well. HOUSE RULES: Unregistered guests are not allowed on the property. The presence of more than 28 guests is unlawful. A guest is anyone at the property, staying the night, or just visiting. Minors need to have a responsible adult present. We will need to check in your entire group together and copy your IDs. There is a counter installed. I utilize a private security firm. If the counter shows more than the registered number of people or if I get a noise complaint from neighbors, security will be immediately dispatched. Quiet hours are expected after 10 pm and enforced by private security. A $200 dispatch fee will be charged from your security deposit. Should they be unsuccessful in removing you from the premises, they will involve the police. This is not a place for a local house party. Any special arrangements such as if you are arriving from out of town in separate groups or prefer to pay a security fee instead (see bottom of listing) will need to be done prior to booking NOISE The brown line train is nearby and you can hear it in some parts of the house. It has never been an issue for any of my tenants however please keep it in mind. SECURITY FEE Our preference is to have everyone's IDs on file, just like any hotel would. You can forward them through the Airbnb messaging app. We understand that some guests have concerns with how the information is stored. We now offer an option of paying a $20 per person non refundable security fee instead. This fee will apply to any adult visiting the property, even if they are not staying overnight. If you choose this option, you will need to request an invoice from us and the main guest will also need to send us a picture or hand us a sheet with name, contact information and signature to comply with a city of Chicago requirement and pay the security fee. All other house rules will continue to apply. GRILL: Currently there is a large gas and a medium electric grills at the property. I do not provide any supplies including gas. Frequently previous guests leave plenty for the next set to you and there is a gas refill station less than five minutes away. Local grocery store is less than two minutes away. WILDLIFE You will encounter wildlife while staying at the property. Here what you can expect most commonly: Spiders and ants are common in Chicago. They get as high as 95th floor of John Hancock building. While we do our best to combat them, it is near impossible during high season. Bees, wasps, yellowjackets are abundant throughout the city. While we take care of any nests on the property, we can not control them in the air and beyond our boundaries. BREAKDOWNS I will use my best efforts to ensure that all equipment within the house is in good working order, although I can not guarantee that any equipment will not break down during your stay, and therefore such a breakdown does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustments made for any such mechanical failure. In the event of a breakdown, I will use my best efforts to remedy the situation as soon as possible after notification of the breakdown. There will be no refunds or rebates given for inoperable appliances or faulty equipment, unfavorable weather, interruption of utilities, or minor maintenance problems. No rebates will be given for malfunctions of cable equipment or reception that affects the TV or Internet access. Please remember that I can not fix a problem if I do not know about it so please communicate any issues promptly.
