Most spacious & luxurious suite on the 1st floor of the Majestic Jewel Inn! The EBONY ROUGE SUITE is furnished with a super comfy KING SIZE bed & fine linens! The bay window has a nice sitting area with a great view! This suite includes a private full bath as well as a quirky "shower closet". Soak in the huge tub or take a sit-down shower. For guests who prefer a stand up shower, we recently added a "shower closet" which is separate from the full bath & opens up into the bedroom. The space Our home was built in 1908 by Adolph Flatauer, a German immigrant who achieved great success in Apalachicola. One of it's most amazing features is the Grand Foyer with the original cypress walls & ceiling as well as hand carved wood work decorating the staircase. Nine hundred custom spindles were made for the upper & lower wrap around veranda! The 4th floor Windows Walk is the highest point in town! It's no wonder why the locals refer to it as "THE JEWEL OF APALACHICOLA". Last but not least! It was home to Gulf State Community Bank back in the 80's! The vaults, lobby & drive thru still remain! Five additional rental suites available in the Majestic Jewel: 1st floor~Ivory Pearl, Vintage Rose and Studio Liberty. 2nd floor~ Green with Envy and Autumn Moon. Experience southern grandeur in a comfortable, peaceful environment. Our guests feel relaxed and at home in the Majestic Jewel. Guest access Guests are encouraged to use common areas for socializing; Formal Dining Room, Grand Salon, Hospitality Lobby, Kitchenette & Upper & Lower Wrap around Verandas. During your stay Greg & June divide their time between their home in Atlanta & Apalachicola, normally spending about 70% of their time in Apalachicola. They welcome requests from guests who would like them to be there while they visit. Other things to note Although the Majestic Jewel is not a bed & breakfast we do offer a lot of lagniappe; self serve coffee, tea, cold drinks, bottled water, oatmeal, milk & cereal PLUS an amazing environment to mix & mingle or simply sit back & relax! You can also walk everywhere! We are in the center of everything that Apalachicola offers. Galleries, shops, restaurants, pubs, parks, river wharf. fishing pier on the bay, all just blocks away! History & beauty surround us! The Beaches of St. George Island are only a 10 Minute drive & Cape San Blas 25 minutes. So much to see & do.
