Mission Bay Cottage - SAN DIEGO

A great little cottage that sleeps 4! Close to everything San Diego has to offer. The space The Mission Bay Cottage is a cute little cottage that is perfect for 2-4 guests. It comes completely furnished with many amenities to make your stay more comfortable. The Mission Bay Cottage is a detached unit that comes with your own private entrance and garden setting. It is a single room or "studio" and has French doors that open up into the Cottage. There are two beds. One is a memory foam queen size bed and the other is a foam mattress (full size) futon that also doubles as the couch. Streaming TV: Netflix and Hulu as well as other free streaming apps available on Roku. Internet is included. There is a breakfast bar complete with bar stools and a table that can expand to give you more tabletop space. The kitchen is complete with a microwave, double induction stove top, a full-size fridge and freezer, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, dishes and pots & pans as well as many other kitchen utensils. There is also an Iron and Ironing Board for those who need it. In addition to the futon and the queen size bed, we do offer a 'Pack-n-Play' for those who have kids and want to travel light. The Cottage also has an electric fireplace that will heat the Cottage nicely and give you the opportunity to have a romantic evening in, or simply relax in its glow. The perfect ambiance for the perfect getaway! There is also an additional space heater located in the closet for those who need more heat. We also offer an air conditioner that will help keep you cool in the summer. Pet Policy: We do apologize, but we are unable to accept any pets at the Cottage at this time. No-Smoking Policy: The entire property is a smoke free establishment. This includes inside the Cottage, common areas and other areas on the property. Smoking shall include cigarette, cigar, pipe, hookah, marijuana (including medical marijuana), or any other product or substance that is intended for smoking. “Smoking” also includes the use of an electronic smoking device that creates a vapor, including e-cigarettes, e-cigars, e-pipes, e-hookahs, vape pens, etc. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the Cottage and surrounding areas smoke free. BEACH vs BAY... The Cottage is 1 block east of the 5 freeway. We are walking distance to Mission Bay and Fiesta Island. The Bay has grass, playgrounds, pavilions, and sand, but little or no waves. There is a sidewalk that will take you around the entire bay that will give you breathtaking views of the Bay as well as the beautiful houses and boats that line the walkway. The Bay is great for kids as there is plenty to do with plenty of bathrooms nearby. While the Bay is walking distance from the Cottage, the beaches are not. For those who wish to go to the beach, it is a short drive to Pacific Beach and Mission Beach... approx a 5-10 minute drive. DEPOSITS: A deposit is required for any guests staying longer than 20 days. Please contact us for further details. PARKING: There is plenty of street parking available. Please do not park in the driveway. LOCATION: I-5 off of Sea World Drive Exit (San Diego, CA) FIREWORKS: Sea World has a spectacular fireworks show during the summer. No need to drive to see them, because you can see the fireworks from the street in front of the Cottage. During the 4th of July, you can see many fireworks shows light up the San Diego sky! BARS: We have 2 local bars that are less than a 5 minute walk to get to. They are THE CARDOVA and SIDECAR. MARKETS: K & L MARKET - A convenience store/deli with a great wine selection. Located North on Morena Blvd - about a 5 minute walk. You can get everything you need for a day at the beach or bay at this store. Tell them Doug and Kathy sent you! JITTERS COFFEE shop is next door to K & L Market. North on Morena Blvd. Just a 5 minute walk to get your morning coffee! CIRCLE K is another convenience store further down the street about a 10 minute walk. Located North on Morena Blvd. CITY LIGHTS CHRISTMAS STORE - Yes - It is open year-round and is the largest Christmas store on the West Coast! Only blocks away...you can walk and be there in 7 minutes. Definitely worth stopping by to see all the wonderful things they have there. Holidays, gifts and collectibles are their specialty. A perfect place to get a San Diego ornament to remember your trip by! CORONADO BREWERY - A local brewery that has a tasting room open daily. City Lights is across the street... perfect to do some shopping and then get a brew! HIKING: Tecolote Canyon is a large canyon that offers many hiking trails. It is located at the end of our street and through the park. The first trail is called the BATTLE TRAIL and is an easy hike that will take about 30-45 minutes to complete. It is perfect for kids too! DRIVING TIMES: 5 minutes or less to: USD, Sea World, Old Town, Mission Bay, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Fiesta Island, and Presidio Park (the Heart of San Diego). 10 minutes Downtown San Diego, Pt Loma University, Mission Valley, Ruben H. Fleet Space Theater with Imax, the Natural History Museum (+ more museums on location), the antique Horse Carousel located in Balboa Park, and the Balboa Park Rose Gardens. Shopping Malls: Fashion Valley Mall, Mission Valley Mall, and UTC Mall; all of which have wonderful movie theaters as well as lots of shopping! 15 minutes La Jolla and Bird Rock 20 minutes Coronado Island, Coronado Hotel 30-45 minutes Wild Animal Park in Escondido, Legoland, Barona Casino, Sycuan Casino and Viejas Casino as well as the Northern San Diego County... including, Encinitas, Leucadia, and much more (Oceanside = 30+ minutes) The San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon runs right in front of our place on Morena Blvd... If you are a fellow marathoner or Triathlete, we welcome you! With so much to do in San Diego, we guarantee there is something for everyone! Guest access Guests have access to a small bistro table and chairs right outside the French doors, or they can use the patio in the very back that has Adirondack chairs and a small table. Both perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner or relaxing with drinks and appetizers.
