The Stone House: A Quiet, Sweet, Lakefront Respite

Ten feet away from the front door. The space The Stone House—bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living room completely renovated in 2025—sets into the side of a hill directly on pristine Star Lake. The house front is a covered terrace directly on the lake. This is a tranquil spot, located on a 40+ acre private wooded point of land over a quarter mile from the main road, where you can relax and get away from it all. Summers are fantastic for week-long stays. Autumn is beautiful in the Adirondacks—stay for a long weekend or an entire week. Enjoy our terrace, the lake, the trees, and our inviting fireplace. The Stone House property features a private dock with a tied-on floating dock, a fireplace, a car park, and a terrace. The Stone House sleeps up to nine—primary bedroom with a queen bed; secondary bedroom with a double bed, bunk beds, and a loft/bed; sleeping porch with a queen and extra-long twin ( Casper and Leesa mattresses)—an en suite full primary bath, and a full hall bath with new tiled shower. Downstairs features a complete renovated kitchen, living room with a large window seat and warming stone fireplace (stocked from a private wood shed just outside the house), and a private, covered terrace overlooking the lake. Enjoy the quiet, the ducks, the loons, the smell of a good fire. Enjoy boating on the lake on our two kayaks, canoe, or paddle board, or take the canoe to the Oswegatchie River; lots of local hiking too. Guest access The Stone House sits on a 45-acre point of land, and is over a quarter mile from the main road. Other things to note Want a true outdoor experience in the lovely part of the summer? Stay on the screened-in (screens only, no glass) sleeping porch overlooking the lake? Inside, there is a fireplace for your use plus plenty of firewood; just make sure the flue is open! We have a gas grill for your grilling pleasure. Other than these two, no other fires are allowed in the house or on the property (including chimeneas, bonfires, or smoking of any kind). And please understand that the Stone House is not a party house nor a place to hold social events; as our headline states: the quiet respite. And in that, it truly is.
