Description
A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi & a tasty, craft ale is only a step away. STR Code: USE2020-0048 The space Our cozy home is also home to a small micro-brewery which is housed in shipping containers in the back yard. Guests are welcome to use the backyard which has a fire pit, or the patio upstairs which gets lots of sun to eat their meals. These areas are only accessible when the taproom is open. The detached garage has been converted into our taproom, so a tasty ale, created on site is never far away. The bedroom is in the back of the house. It is surprisingly quiet, so you won't be disturbed by patrons of the brewery. In fact, there is the constant gurgling sound of a running stream, which is actually our glycol system that is used to cool our beer and walk-in cooler. The kitchen is fully equipment, including a gas range so you can cook to your hearts delight. There is coffee and tea readily available too. The window above the kitchen sink looks out on to the front beer garden of the brewery. You can always create some privacy by closing the blinds. The dated bathroom has a shower tub, which is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, toothpaste, first aid kit and most importantly with a tub....soothing bubble bath! The lounge/living area is our biggest space. It receives a lot of light and looks out on to the front street, and a window faces the front beer garden. Again, there are blinds, curtains and sheer curtains to create more privacy for yourself, if you so desire. You can hear the murmur of conversations in the front beer garden. The comfy couch in the living room opens up into sleeper bed. Stairs go upstairs to our office space. There is a door that creates privacy for you downstairs; however, the house is a little squeaky, so you will hear foot steps upstairs as we access the space during office hours and often in the evening to access our merchandise stock for the brewery. We only access the office space through the brewery, and never via your space downstairs. Please note - this is an old, dated house. We haven't remodelled or upgraded, to try to keep the price low. Guest access During COVID Times, guests can purchase beer, wine and cider from the taproom 12pm - 9pm 7 days a week. If there is a table free, you are welcome to eat your meals in any one of the 3 beer gardens, including the upstairs patio or backyard fire pit, when we are open. Only beer, wine and cider sold in our taproom may be consumed in the beer garden. Other things to note Please understand, this is a working micro-brewery, so there are people/owners here working in the office upstairs, making beer in the brewery, or working in the taproom. This happens at all times of day and night, which means that you will hear movement upstairs. Plus the beer garden has people sitting enjoying beers, and on Wed, Fri and Sat nights (pre-COVID) we have live music. It is usually quiet from 12am - 7am, but this isn't guaranteed. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and private to stay, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a unique experience on the doorstep of an operating micro-brewery - then you have found a great spot. No spirits may be consumed on Stones Throw's property or in the beer gardens. We will loose our licenses if this happens. If you drink spirits or any other alcohol not sold by Stones Throw, please do so INSIDE the guest house. Only drinks bought in the taproom may be consumed in the beer gardens or in the taproom.
