This spacious, cozy apt is located in Asheville's scenic historic district. We specialize in long term, pet friendly stays. Main level apt has 2 BR, 1BA, and a roomy office; perfect for remote working guests. Enjoy the charming front porch, back balcony, and fenced in yard. The apt is conveniently located within walking distance to eateries, park, greenway, downtown, UNCA, and botanical gardens. Come relax in this lovely home if you are relocating, or just getting away for fresh mountain air! Full disclosure, our house was built in 1925 and, over the years, has evolved into a triplex. That is, there is an apartment on the top floor that is privately accessed through the door/staircase on the left as you face the house. The main apartment (your space) is located on the main floor and is accessed through the door on the right. There is also a basement space that I use to store supplies in, and to stay at (infrequently) when I am at the house to do maintenance or to turn the rentals. The upstairs is a long term rental which I rent out to quiet, friendly people. The fenced in backyard is accessible from the back balcony down a flight of stairs. I mention this for those guests who have senior dogs that may have difficulties with stairs. You can also access the backyard by walking around either side of the house to the gates of the fenced in yard. A few people have asked about noise level in the house, as it is a share space. I can tell you that, so far, noise has not been an issue with our guests. You can hear the upstairs tenants when they go up or down the stairs.. and, if the tenants have pets, you may hear their dog bark, but in general, you do not hear much. The street is close to the house though, and there are a lot of passersby, including the mailperson, who delivers to the front door. If you have "barkers", this could be an issue. In any case, if you have pets, you will need to call me to discuss any or all concerns prior to booking my place. We want to make sure all humans and fur babies are happy! Our house is located in the heart of Montford, Asheville's historic neighborhood. It is a beautiful, tree-lined, family and dog friendly neighborhood.. lots of sidewalks and places to walk to. Parking is on the street, directly in front of the house, or in front of the vacant house next door. Please remember to lock your car doors. Although the street is safe and well lit, it is always a good idea to lock up. Montford is home to great eateries such as Nine Mile, Tall John's Tavern, All Day Darlin', and our local Speakeasy, Little Jumbo. Also close by are downtown Asheville, historic Riverside Cemetery, the Biltmore Estate, and the Grove Park Inn. In December, check out the Montford Tour of Homes, and in the summer check out (free) Shakespeare in the park performed by our own Montford Park Players. Inquire about all at the Asheville Visitor Center on Montford Ave. Pet policy - we accept all well-behaved fur babies with upfront approval. Your pets must be up to date on their shots and flea treatments. There are a lot of dogs and cats in the neighborhood, so please no aggressive dogs. You must also keep your dog(s) on leash when walking in the neighborhood. All residents and guests are expected to pick up after your pet (poops, that is), including in the back yard, and dispose of properly. Thank you in advance for honoring this!
