The Pumphouse on Lake Superior I 200’ Lakefront

Welcome to the historic Pumphouse on Lake Superior with 200' of lake front! The Pumphouse is one of Duluth's iconic and historical properties. This home was originally designed by John Wangenstein in 1860 as the water pump house for the City of Duluth but was abandoned. Miss Elisabeth Congdon converted the pumphouse into an absolutely stunning French-style home. We are located lakeside on London Road, just a short drive to Duluth's downtown restaurants, entertainment, and Canal Park. PL19-166. Guest access Road Construction Please note: London Road (Hwy 61) will be under construction during the 2026 season, beginning in late April and continuing into the fall. During this project, northbound traffic on London Road will remain open, but southbound traffic will be detoured to Superior Street through portions of the work area. For guests, the main impact will be extra travel time when heading south toward downtown Duluth, Canal Park, and other western parts of the city. The detour is expected to affect travel patterns for much of the construction season, so we recommend allowing a little extra time when arriving, departing, or planning outings. Our goal is to make your stay as smooth as possible, and we simply want guests to be aware of the roadwork before arrival.
